Adjusting the charge settings

Hi fellow riders,

Does anyone know how to change the default charge setting from 6A to 30A? Each time that I plug the bike, I have to manually adjust it. All of my house chargers are Lvl2 and
I have the GS-911 tool but can not find the option to adjust it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Mine stays at where I've set it, 14A (don't want to overload 15A outlets when using the Level 1 charger).

I'm getting version 015_011_020 installed tomorrow at the dealership. Its supposed to address this issue as well as comfort turn indicator which unchecks randomly.

Good to hear. Is it possible to take a pic of your screen under the "software version" screen? I'm trying to convince my dealer that more updated versions exist beyond my number 13 shown here. They haven't been as helpful as you'd hope. Thanks.

Thanks. Much appreciated. I have an appointment on August 20th at the dealer I purchased the bike used from (2 hours away). My local Milwaukee dealer is 100% useless.

Thanks for the follow up. Tagging @Tron too. I went to my selling dealer yesterday for my software update appointment. It's a 2023 I bought used from them in June of this year with 400 miles on it. The paperwork says it has factory warranty through May of 2028. This dealer is 2 hours away from me, but my local Milwaukee dealer 5 miles away was literally useless (both service and parts). So it was worth it to trailer there and back for the appointment. With warranty, I too assumed the update would be covered. I brought the photo from @Tron showing the 015_011_020 software version.

Good news is the update was successful and only took about 45 minutes. But the service writer was very dismissive of the info shared here, saying "we don't listen to anything forums say, just what BMW tells us." He then said it would be about $60. Long convo about warranty and the update, but he too was adamant that is not something BMW covers, and wasn't budging. I asked which version it was and he just said "it's the latest." I looked at the screen menu before I left and it was 015. Funny business model when the customer is the enemy both with info and trying to understand coverage. Net net, as I said, the new version matches what @Tron sent. It bumped up the mileage range for 78mi to 82 mi in ECO mode with 98% battery charge....but again that may be just by virtue of a reset and not related to my actual driving behavior. I needed to reset charging voltage from the default 6A. I've shared the dealer notes here which include BMW software version codes if that helps anyone in the future. In the end it was worth the time and cost. Thanks for the info and input along the way. Much appreciated.

Yes, that range change is likely due to reset riding measurements.
But your dealer really should do the update for free, especially as it's in warranty.
Mine did.

Thanks. I agree it should’ve been free. And believe me I tried. Just chalking it up to how poor my experience has been with BMW dealers so far. My first BMW. Can’t imagine if I had spent $25K on a GS. Net net I’m glad it’s up to date and don’t have a real reason to go back for a while. And I’ll do the brake fluid flush myself.

PS. Attached are pics of the BMW dealer in Milwaukee. They’ve had the franchise for 3 years after the other local dealer closed. Milwaukee metro area is 1.2 million people. And this is their display/merchandising in-store after 3 years as the only dealer for 100 miles.
