C 400 GT: RAM Ball Added to Handlebar; Parking Brake Not Added

Continuing my initial farkles with my new scoot (see www.bmw-scooters.com/index.php?threads/new-c-400-gt-with-aftermarket-windscreen-protection-bars-throttle-lock-and-sidestand-plate.2471/ for a discussion of the first few), I added a RAM ball to the left side of the handlebars.

In related news, I also attempted to add a simple parking brake on that side, but failed. I ordered this a couple of weeks ago:


It seemed like a good idea -- watch the short video there -- and it was certainly cheap enough. But the amount of semi-circular material surrounding the bolt hole (i.e., the bolt that the brake lever pivots on) was too much, too wide. That prevented the device from lying flat on top of the stock metal that holds that bolt, i.e., that area of the new device bumps into the side of the brake reservoir. This cheapo device could still be made to work, IMO, if some material were ground off (and then the edge painted or something), and I may do that someday.
