c650sport panel flashing go blank

2018 bmw c650sport

On turning the key to on, panel light goes on but no signs or motion, light texture fades, no starting on pressing start button. Retried many times, rear light flashes, ocassionally speedometer arm swings slowly, signs lit up, engine was not responsive.
Any brothers know why?

Dead battery or bad connection power cable to battery.
