Seems polite to make an introduction...
I am a semi retired engineer, done a lot of things in a lot of places around the world.
Now live back in the soggy NW of England.
I'm 62 this year, and re-discovering my old bike injuries as aches and pains now!
I had an old R/75 and an R/80 many years ago and I am just enjoying being back on two wheels with an R12 and a CE-04 too.
The CE-04 gets used a LOT…
So handy.
I have been biking for 54 years… with a largely work/house/partner enforced gap (if you don't include trials bike and quad) for around fifteen years until mid 2020.
Trials competitions when a youngster, then some amateur track racing and road racing for twelve years - mostly classics and Italian bikes. sadly I was never really good enough to do anything major (9 x Manx GP's and a few NW200's) - no prizes but still had fun on many different bikes.
According to my better half - I still owned “far too many” bikes apparently…
I sold all twelve remaining bikes a good while ago to help buy the house/farm we now live in.
Now just got four bikes - and only one remains from my racing days. (I bought that back)
1. 1980’s Yamaha farm quad, which really needs some TLC again
2. 1981 Laverda 750SF (that looks like an SFC, and is in a painfully slow rebuild)
3. 2022 BMW CE-04 Electric “rocket” that's a total hoot for local journeys
4. 2024 BMW R12 - very new to me - but feels like wearing a pair of comfy old boots...
Not in a rush when riding anymore, but I still don’t like mediocre bikes that aren’t well engineered!
I love the CE-04 and I am fortunate to have an R12 as well
If I want wrist pain - I can always ride the Laverda!!
Oh - and l also have 2 x BMW i3 cars, an ex-Army Land Rover 90 Wolf and a few tractors.
(I live on a farm)
That's far more than I've posted on any forum in a very long while... sorry
