I have a clickety clackety noise when I first start my gt, it goes away once its warmed up my dad says he thinks its valve noise... but it almost sounds like its coming from the cvt housing. Anyone else notice anything like this ?

Not me ('23 C 400 GT, 8632 miles). But I put in ear plugs before I start the bike, and my hearing is pretty bad, anyway (I wear hearing aids off the bike).

What year and how many miles on your C 400 GT? And do you do your maintenance on it -- oil changes, etc. -- or do you have a shop do it?

2022 i just got it a couple of months ago with 2000 miles I've put on 500 since, the previous owner was meticulous so maintenance has been done to the letter, It runs beautifully just a bit noisy when i start it up ...

I would first pinpoint exactly where the noise is coming from. If you are having trouble, maybe pick up a cheap automotive stethascope at Harbor Freight or maybe Amazon. If it is your CVT I wouldn't be too concerned. Scooter CVT's can be noisy at idle especially when the belt and rollers start to wear. But even then I've put thousands of miles on my scooters even after noticing noise and wear. You can easily put the scoot on its center stand and run it with the CVT cover removed and check things out if you are concerned. Here are some things that cause CVT noise.
Solutions & Maintenance:
  • Clean & Service: Open the CVT cover (usually every 2,000-3,000 miles) to clean dust, debris, and old grease from the belt, pulleys, and clutch bell.
  • Replace Worn Parts: New roller weights (sliders) and sometimes a new belt can resolve noise and smoothness issues.
  • Grease Properly: Use the correct grease on variator guides and clutch splines (avoiding the belt/rollers).
  • Tighten Variator: A loose variator nut can cause a clattering sound and should be tightened to spec.
