Hi All.
I have a c400x with 37.000 kms. All service was done on time, with BMW specialist. Once, during ride the motorcycle stopped. I towed it directly to the local BMW service, and the found the spark plug in this condition. Im affraid the whole engine was damaged, and have to replace it.
I have no idea what happend exactly.

Have a good day, safe ride!

I am only a hobby mechanic, but I have seen something like this before. Unfortunately, the cause in the vehicle that I saw a plug similarly damaged was due to a timing chain gear failure. However, it was not on a BMW motorcycle. Not that it matters from a diagnosis perspective, but is it still under warranty? The engine may be unsalvageable.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. And that's not all that much usage (about 23 000 miles) of the bike. (What year is your C 400 X?)

On a '22 C 400 GT, I had what I believe was a failure of a valve-spring keeper, which resulted in a major loss of power and perhaps some other internal engine damage (but it still ran). After about four months, the local dealership and BMW North America decided to just replace my moto with a '23 model. I wrote about the whole issue here, in case you're curious and haven't read it:

I hope your problem is resolved sooner than mine was. Good luck.

Thanks for replying. Mine is '19. I'm afraid here in Hungary the customer support not as helpful, but after I have the statement from my mechanic I contact with them. I try it. I have nothing to lose in this point.
