It's been pretty quiet around here. I've been waiting three years for Highway 1 through Big Sur to reopen — one road closure after another. It finally opened this year, only to close again because of the Timber Fire. Poor Big Sur just can't catch a break.
So on the 28th, I'll head north instead. It's a route I've driven many times, but it never gets old: Bay Area → Bodega Bay → Fort Bragg → Eureka → back down on 101 through Ukiah, then home. At 70 with a history of so many bikes, this is the one that may have provided the most fun.
