Hand guards

Hello specialgray personally I when with some tucson Urbano R334N 1 universal, with the heated grip and those I ride with summer glove early spring and late fall
They are easy to install and to remove them in the summer, the look is not great but the confort his maximum I ride up to 0 Celsius and those are comfy. they cost me 58 Euros on the french web site Motoblouz.
Enjoy the ride!

The pogies recommended by Yves will definitely provide the best hand protection for cold weather riding; especially for cold + rainy days. I bought pogies for my bicycles to use when temperatures drop drastically, and there is rain in the mix. Cold rain is an amazingly effective heat-sink, and will sap all warmth from whatever body parts you do not protect. We know that hand dexterity is vital for good bike/scooter control, so go as extreme as you are willing, to keep your hands warm and dry.

I actually bought the same Wunderlich hand guards you have pictured here. I have found that they do provide significant protection from wind chill, as well as rocks or other debris which may be thrown back at me from vehicles I am following. Even though I create a proper space cushion with cars/trucks ahead of me, objects can be thrown quite far by vehicle tires. So, I like these hand guards for protection from wind and random road missiles. They are less protective than pogies, but the hand guards offer easier/quicker access to the hand grips; if you remove a hand from a hand grip for some reason, to reinsert it into a pogie takes good aim, which is not a consideration with the hand guards. I also like to have the protection of the hand guards all year, whereas the pogies would be too warm to use in in temperatures above maybe 10 degrees C/50 degrees F.

We all have varying levels of comfort for hand temperatures. So, you have two good options to choose from here, hand guards or pogies. Which one is best for you will depend on which benefits and trade-offs are important to you. I hope you find something which works well for you.
