Hidden tool storage in the helmet compartment

In the back of the helmet compartment is a small area you might not have noticed much. It's an awkward indentation that is just enough to fit a set of emergency tools (air compressor, bike tool, torx wrench set, tire plug kit):

How are they staying in place? Velcro! I added two strips on the back wall, and a small strip on each tool I want to ensure is always with me.

My first iteration involved duct-taping everything in place, but that only worked as long as I didn't have to get to anything. I also tried velcro on plastic bags, but they didn't stick as well as it does directly to the tools. I still haven't found a good emergency place for a first-aid kit, but I suspect it could fit over the 12V battery.

When placed in the back of the helmet compartment, the tools don't get in the way of a helmet nor block the emergency backup battery I place in the helmet compartment for longer multi-charge rides. It's not pictured here, but I also keep a set of emergency plastic tie wraps on hooks on the roof of this compartment, just behind the door frame.

Where do y'all hide your tools?

That looks like a MotoPumps Air Shot in there. Coincidentally, I ordered one last week, set to arrive today.

On my C 400 GT, I just have a ditty bag with stuff like that in the topcase (and move it over to a Givi saddlebag on my Meteor 350, when I ride that).

Yup! That's a MotoPumps Air Shot, along with a Dynaplug Xtreme (IMHO, overkill). I hate riding around with my top case, so I used to keep these in my side bag until I realized there was wasted space below. :)

Tidy solution @triangletom . I’m new to the ce 04, does it have any on board tools included. I found the little torx L shaped tool behind the front screen thanks to the manual however it refers to hook wrenches for adjusting the suspension. Are these hidden somewhere or do you need to buy them and keep them in your garage?

Below is a VERY TYPICAL wrench (AKA "spanner") for adjusting shocks. It latches in place, around one of a shock's raised edges, and then you rotate it in the proper direction.

As I said, this is very typical across MANY brands. The one is the pic is what came with my BMW C 400 GT -- you can see the part number -- and I would strongly suspect that the CE-04 comes with one of those, too, or one very much like it ... assuming that the CE-04 has typical shocks, adjustable for pre-load.

By the way, manufacturers only supply one of those in tool kits, inasmuch as you can only adjust one shock at a time. Oh, and for really stubborn shocks, folks often add a small pipe to the non-business end, for increased leverage (and such a pipe is often supplied, too).

Last, while we're on the subject of tools, I carry this torx set on the C 400, and am very pleased with it:

If you're interested in getting more tools, I have some recommendations (including the one above) in this thread that I started last November:

Thanks , useful info and a handy thread too. Both the torx tool the Hook Wrench x2 (as your photo) are mentioned in the CE 04 owners manual. I found the torx tool behind the front panel in a little holder I was wondering if the Hook Wrench x2 should come with the bike or on board and where they might live before I go and buy some ...... no-one needs 4 Hook Wrenches.
