Ignition lock inoperable

The steering/ignition lock on my 2013 C650 GT no longer works.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Is this something that can be fixed, or do I need to replace the entire mechanism?

I think it would be guesswork offering an opinion on whether repair or replacement is the right tack to take. I would take it off, inspect it, clean it, lube it, and then reassess what steps need to be taken. It might become crystal clear what’s going on after you inspect it.

Thanks. That's why I asked for anyone's experience. Based on the parts diagram, it does not appear that it is user-serviceable. I'll get around to taking it out this weekend and see what's up.

OLD thread but any luck on removing it and was it difficult to get to it. any instructions would be helpful since my lock is giving me problems.
