Mounting a GPS

The BMW mounting kit you attached works great and is easy to install. The 3-wire GPS plug is already attached to the cross tube under the steering head plastics. if you decide not to use that, there is an accessory port with switched power high up on the left inside the right glovebox. You can get to the back side of it through the steering plastics to splice in. Directions are attached.

No attachment received. I have the power figured out using a plug I purchased off eBay. My main concerns are

-the guide holes molded onto the back of the top cover, 1/2” or something less?

- how does one accurately align the clamp on the crossbar to ensure proper placement to complete the install. Does the clamp need to stay loose or tightened,

appreciate your efforts. Didn't directly answer my questions but I'm going to forge ahead anyway. Key is safely drilling the holes in the top cover. Going to visit my local old time hardware store for some suggestions on safely drilling 1/2" hole in plastic without breaking it.

Did not realize your question was how to drill the holes. The plastic cover has the locations marked on the backside. All you need is a step bit. The plastic drills easily. Don’t use force. https://www.harborfreight.com/2-pie...GiXnBK3A461LXNYsFIPLjaYI-kQr0AZ4aApSxEALw_wcB
