Power Supply for the Chigee Aio-5, where to connect yellow ACC wire?

Hi there,

I just purchased a chigee Aio 5 with a Lin module and I'm struggling to find a connection point for the ACC (yellow) wire for the power supply. Anybody here who has installed it already? Whats your experience?

Some context: I did not purchase the BMW version of the Chigee as I don't want to install a Navigator cradle but went for a rather minimalistic mount just above the TFT screen with a universal holder (that mounts on the windscreen).

Many thanks!
Filip

I don't know the specifics of your Chigee device, but I can tell you that if you're just looking for a 12V power source on a C 400 you can find that in the unused plug for the Sat Nav. At least, that was the case for my '22 and '23 C 400 GTs here in the USA.

If you take a look at my gallery, starting with this particular image and caption ...

... I have about 20 pictures and captions. They include pics of this unused connector, where it's located, and an example of the appropriate connector to use with it (i.e., an eBay link).

That Sat Nav connector switches on with the ignition, and turns off one minute after the bike is shut down. I use it to power a pair of LEDs up front. I first learned about it in this forum thread: https://www.bmw-scooters.com/threads/garmin-zumo-xt.2599/

Is this the sort of information you were looking for?

Thanks Bill, I am using the unused satnav plug to plug in the Lin module of the Chigee, which sends the bike's data and wonder wheel instructions to the Chigee. I need to connect a + and - to the battery That I know how to wire, but need a switched power source (ACC) to tap into. Was wondering what the best (and least cumbersome) place would be.

Well, in addition to the unused satnav power, I also tapped into the wires that feed into the right-side cubby for another switched power source.

See my pics and captions starting here:

Filip,

Here’s a couple of pictures of how I tapped into the fuse box for the 12VDC ignition trigger.

I bought my CHIGEE AIO-5 lite when they were released earlier 2024. You will definitely like the CarPlay!

Here is the thread I started for the Chigee --> https://www.bmw-scooters.com/threads/chigee-aio-5-lite-apple-android-carplay.3066/

BTW, they just released the ODB 2 module. The data read from the ODB will be overlayed onto the videos.

Good luck!

I stole this idea from @byee a few months ago and it's been working great. The power remains on for approx 60 seconds after turning off ignition btw. If you don't mind pulling off a bunch of plastics and want that delay to be shorter, the rear running lamp shuts off after like 15 seconds and the connector is on the left side towards the back. @wspollack has a write up with pics for his skene lights

Many thanks @alexpa, @byee and @wspollack.

Last night I finished the mounting of the Aio 5 and hooked up the yellow ACC wire to the fusebox. Measured which side of the fuse was not receiving power when the bikes ignition is on and the fuse is out and hooked it up to that side (just plugged the wire in, was straight forward, not the most secure but does the job).

The only odd thing is that the LIN module which is connected to the 3 pin nav plug under the handlebar cover, sends engine data to the Aio 5 (see picture), but I don't have any wonder wheel control. I asked the BMW dealer to activate option 272 as suggested by the Chigee forum. The dealer confirmed the 3 pin module has power, but he dit not confirm the activation of the option 272, come to think in hindsight.

EDIT: when checking the Features > RC > you can see the LIN module is paired but Status says N/C (not connected?)

Thoughts?

The CHIGEE LIN module is not supported by our C400GT’s

You will need this module to take advantage of the wonder wheel

Sorry for the bad news

I've emailed the chigee support and they suggest to reflash the option 272. Going to the dealership once I reach the first service interval. Keep you posted.
