Resetting the service timer

Hello All,

Recently my 2017 C-EVO’s screen started displaying a wrench icon . The manual suggests that it is due for service. The bike only has 1900 total miles so I suspect the service interval is probably triggered by a time interval as well. I just went through my state’s required safety inspection so I know the brakes, tires, etc are all fine. Given the late and the little ima really rice the bike I feel confident no service is actually needed. While I can certainly ignore the icon Is there a way to reset that timer without needing to schedule a service appointment with the dealer?

I have the same question. Is it possible to delete the wrench icon at home?

Probably (I know it works on my two BMWs, not sure it works on the C-EVOs) you can reset this service reminder with the Motoscan app and cable + OBD dongle.

If OBD is wifi or bluetooth, is it possibel to use the motoscan app? Or you need a cable?

You still need a cable and compatible OBD dongle. However to be sure I would visit the Motoscan site and if needed send them your questions, before buying.

That is the bane of our existence nowadays because manufacturers build stuff too reliant on electronics, every single motorcycle built after 2015 is a walking electronic time bomb.

I wouldn’t say every motorcycle is an electronic time bomb. If you want 100% reliable - buy a Honda. (Dodging arrows)
But the service reminder that’s timed to appear annually is a bit too extreme, and mostly serves to get you into the dealership. We know what happens then, profits on services and also hoping you’ll spot something on the sales floor they can help you with….
