Hi everyone's a week ago I got my front tire change I got a Michelin Pilot road 4, wow what a difference with the Maxxis. Anyway while I was at the dealer I've got the Os update on the scooter, after multiple crash it look like it was working ( I've got the 1200 RT display syndrome that what the dealer toll me they had a similar problem)meaning now any setup I put on in the menu it reset itself about a hour or so.Now the 6 amp set up to recharge doesn't work no more so when I charge I need to set it at 8 or 10 amp but the problem is that it reset itself and goes back to the 6 amp basic charge but it doesn't work so it stop charging the scooter. I was wondering if anyone had this problem?
I was the idiot who ask to do the update I should had know better...
I will bring it back next friday at the dealer I'm going for vacations so they will have the time to find a solution.

Hello everyone me again to give you a feed back, I left my CE04 at the dealer while I was gone on vacation for the software problem.
After 3 weeks nothing done and the answer from BMW Germany is it will be fix next update next year!

So if you go to your dealer for something do not get the update right now.
So my scooter work but it doesn't keep my preferences on the long run maybe a few hours and it stop willing to charge at 6 amp.

Thank you for sharing this information with us, Yves. When I take my bike in for service soon, I will ask the technician to not install the software version you have, if nothing newer is available. I have the same version as SortedCE04 (013_013_020), which has been working well for me; I might like to keep this version on my bike for now.

We are a few months into the new year. Have you heard from your dealer if there is a new firmware version to upgrade your bike to, and possibly resolve these issues? I hope you will have a normally functioning bike soon.

Interesting that SW is the same both sides of the Pond. Mine has been reliable, do still have phone connection bugs sometimes, but can live with that.

Hi I didn't hear from them yet the season is starting slow this year with the weather who is still a bit in the minus... So I presume the dealer is still in hibernation...
I've got about 100 km yet done just pure fun! I will keep you updated when I get some news.

Had a new error showing this morning. SOS mode not available contact dealer if this happens again.

Right oh. Continued and then recharged at my work 3 phase charger x3 @10amp. Washed the bike and at next start up error message was gone, must have been a data connection error. Went out for a flat out run to hell with environment :ROFLMAO:

Left with 60 miles range, did 31 miles worth of Dynamic riding and had 10 miles remaining on return. #Plenty. Now on the house 3 pin charger @10amp.
 
I’ve also posted on the De Rated Power post about the difference between the software on a de rated bike (restricted to 30hp) and the full power 42hp version.
I’ve been sent a screenshot of the dash from the BMW dealer selling the CE-04 I’m interested in buying, it’s the restricted version with 30hp, S/W Version 014_013_030, however they can reset the bike to full power with a software update.
Seeing as the posts on here are saying their software starts with 013 could this be the difference between the two versions.
Anyone out there with the software starting 014.

Hello to my knowledge and what I've read about the two versions there is no way to change for 30 to 42hp, I would consider to check with another dealer to have a second opinion about this.

Hi, Yes this seems to be a grey area with no definitive answer so far, they sent me the screenshot this morning and as they said they have another full power version in the showroom I’ve just asked them to send me a screenshot of that one as a comparison, however there maybe some other software in the system for this, I just wondered if the 014 was for the restricted version seeing as others have mentioned theirs start with 013.
I believe the States and Canada don’t have the restricted versions and their software also starts with 013.

Are you on Facebook if so check this page from Europe while back there was a discussion about this and someone had ask and the answer in France and Belgium was no way, it was a factory installation and you could not reverse or change the power.
