Something happened while i was aggressively rolling on at high speed.
My Sport was behaving its best, super smooth and powerful everywhere…I was super happy and excited, and suddenly, in a blink…torque stared to float, power lost, hesitant to go over 100kmh.
I made it home OK but have had following abnormal symptoms:
1. more vibrations at idle
2. super jerky to start off the line, almost stalling and the jerks sometimes trigger ADC with consequent loss of power as it additionally kills ignition
3. hesitant to accelerate, especially when cold
4. at about 80kmh stable speed, whining noise from the engine, i can vary it with a bit of play on the throttle
Normal engine start, normal fuel consumption. No unusual smell or smoke. No chain ticks.
Freshly serviced oil and transmission.
What could this be? Striken so suddenly, not gradual wear. Devastated - the scoot was a freaking falcon just before the “strike”.
Now more like a “jerky pigeon” ha ha isn’t that the new Ubuntu name?

Bought a new tensioner, once it arrives we get to open and check the engine.
Damn I need a second motorbike… selling Victory Jackpot was a mistake.

If the timing did 'move', there are reports of owners being able to get the engine back in time without any permanent damage done to the engine. Fingers crossed. (I always have a backup vehicle to my daily driver for when something puts it out of commission).

When my '22 C 400 GT was in the shop -- most of the summer of '23 -- I, too, decided that I needed a second bike, even though I had been a one-bike-at-a-time guy for several decades by then..

I bought a new '23 Royal Enfield Meteor 350:

Cheap (and leftover model years are even cheaper), and tons of fun.

After some more riding, I am inclined to think the issue is with the clutch shaft.
There is more vibration even at speed, when the clutch is fully engaged. I have checked the final chain lash and it is right up to MAX marker when shifting the narrower part upwards with a screwdriver.
The bike goes well but some energy is lost to those everpresent vibes. Vibes are present at idle as well which could still be the clutch shaft play. We have replaced the input shaft and bearings already, only to see a marginal improvement.
I will do more on May 11th but not until then. It does not seem to be the cam chain tensioner, there is stable and good energy from the engine, but some dissipation happens in transmission or clutch. I do not think it is the clutch as the breakage was abrupt, few milliseconds from awesome flight to now. Could not have happened in fully engaged clutch, but a bearing after, or on this very shaft - perhaps. It is rideable, I’m just annoyed at it not being perfect as before the strike. 72200km on the odo.

OK here is an update.
It was Dr.Pulley's HiT clutch having issues.
I don't know HOW can it get "broken" at very high speed when it is fully and properly engaged but it did.
We have replaced the Blue (BL) 5.2Kg clutch springs that engaged at 840 rpm (and possibly scratched the bell even at idle) with slightly stronger 7.3Kg Black (BK) clutch springs that engage at 900 rpm. Now there is no "strong" shudder at take-off but some mild vibrations troughout.
I suspect my clutch bell needs replacement now, at 73000 km...
May do that at next service. Today is the first day of normal riding, it is not ideally perfect like it was before the "strike" but much better than it was.
My conclusion is that Dr. Pulley release it to the market with slightly incorrect spring sets, and my extensive riding and experimentation has had it's toll on the bell (pun intended). The Yellow "pillow" springs they ship with are correct. The very strong Blue 12.5Kg "clutch" springs they ship with are incorrect, and should be the Black 7.3Kg. I still need to test long-term to see if any more issues develop.

This is why, generally, I stick with factory parts and don't try to upgrade or modify my vehicles from stock. If I want more power for example, I get a more powerful bike. I don't try and massage my current one into something that the manufacturers' engineers did not create, test and approve. To each their own of course, and I am sure many are very happy with their modified bikes, but I stay away from modifying, even with something simple as an aftermarket exhaust.

There are very limited bike upgrade options to keep enjoying CVT and improve performance.
And yeah, I am from the opposite camp.
