BMW does not care about me

First off, let me say thanks to all the members here on bmw-scooters.com for your concern and support. there is a positive end to all this and I will post the conclusion soon.

It's been a up and down heartbreak with my scooter, but in the end, BMW did the right thing and replaced my scooter with a new 2014 replacement scooter.

Most excellent!! My only problem would be the fact they don't offer the red color for the C650GT in 2014. Glad I bought mine when I did, I wouldn't want any of those poorer-handling colors. :p
 
Well, first of all...Ohio State's color is scarlet. (You know I had to go there.):p

And second, those of us who follow Buckeye football don't really care about win/loss records. It's all about just being good sports.......

I have a similar issue. I purchased a brand new 2013 $10,000 BMW GT650 scooter in July 2013. I got in an minor accident on Sept 11th, 2013. The insurance bill was more than $4000 and the insurance covered it 100%. I took the bike to the BMW dealership on Sept 11th, 2013 and it hasn't been fixed yet. My local BMW dealership and I have been waiting for parts to get release date from Germany since last 80 days. It looks like they don’t make the parts for it anymore. Please let me know what legal options do I have to get BMW to compensate me or replace mine.
 
BMW still makes parts for the bike and they will have to for at least for 10 years if they want to sell there Veh/Bikes here in the USA. You have to remember that you are dealing with a European Co. they do things differently and at a slower pace, and why would you think that they should compensate you or replace your (parts/bike) since you are the one who had the accident.

So, let me get this straight. BMW stocks NOTHING in a US Warehouse for their Bikes??? Everything is Germany-sourced? Yamaha, et al, all have fully-stocked warehouses here in the US, with mechanicals and body parts. When I needed odd body parts for my 2009 Majesty, or my brother's 2009 Tmax, I found them at dealers on the internet, my local Yamaha dealer MATCHED their 25-30% off list prices, and the parts arrived in 3-4 days, drop-shipped from the regional warehouse.

Apparently, BMW is worse than PIAGGIO for parts supply, and that's the nadir in the scooter biz...
 
Hmmm...Something sounds a little off here. I was in a very minor accident that required a couple weird parts and had the bike fixed immediately. Probably a bit premature to assume BMW is worse (or better) than anyone based upon one post.
 
Ok, pretty much had the same issue. My C650GT has been in the shop a total of over 65 days. Here's the scoop; they replace the motor due to a casting issue, had oil leaking. Took a 4500 mile trip to TX with no problems besides my ride side front cover flying off 30 miles outside Amarillo, TX. My wife has a C600 Sport with no issues. After motor was replaced, I thought everything was going to be ok. I was wrong. The bike started stalling at slow speeds. Dangerous! After the 3rd time bake to the dealer for the same issue, I called Customer Service to have them buy back the scooter. I was told the only thing they could offer me was a direct replacement. So, I took a replacement. They couldn't offer the same color but I was ok with that. I should have the bike the second week of December. Believe me, if I have any issues with the replacement, I will contact BMW and my attorney. Good luck, keep on top of BMW, call them every other day if needed. They will come through. I have to maintain a certain loyalty to BMW since my wife also has one. I will update the forum with info on the new machine.

Because my bike is sitting in the shop for 3 months. They still dont have the release date for parts being shipped from Germany. I paid $12000 inc taxes in July of this year and my scooter is in shop since Sept. I never expected it will take more than 3 months to get a part.

Warranty rights are generally a matter of contract with some jurisdictions creating statutory rights and remedies. If a bike is not working properly because of a defect in the manufacture of or preparation of the bike then warranty rights are generally invoked. If the question is repair time for a problem not created by a manufacturer's defects that presents a whole different set of questions.
