How to remove Handlebar Central Panel on 2017 650GT

I am wanting to mount my Garmin GPS on the plastic handlebar central panel. How do you remove the central panel with the BMW emblem? Have any inmates here done this with their GPS install. How did you route electrical wire supply to GPS? Thanks

I can mount the Garmin on my RAM mounts and have GPS and XM satellite radio. Wonderful while riding on the Russell day long seat and bark busters keeping bugs off my gloves.

See the photo. This is my fifth Russell seat. No ore butt burn or lower back pain after 90 minutes on the stock seat. I had a drive in appointment so they are able to custom fit seat to my forma nd riding style. I had covered in Sunbrella fabric which more durable and reduces sliding like one may experience on a vinyl covered seat.

I'd like to do what you did, but the teeeny photos don't show enough detail. I see the RAM ball (apparently RAM® 9mm Angled Bolt Head Adapter Ball Base Part#: RAM-B-272U) and flange nut on top, with a large washer underneath. Is that a carriage bolt mating with the flange nut?
Did you make any other modifications to the central panel?

Here is the photo of the underside of the center panel. Watch out that you do not put too much weight as it may pop the panel loose when you hit a bump. I also put some foam rubber under the zumo to stop vibrations.

Same teeny 240x320 pixel photo, which doesn't allow me to see details. From your comment about popping the panel loose, I'm guessing you didn't make any mods to the attachments between the panel and the bike. I'd be interested to know if your panel has ever popped loose.
