Red Warning light water temperature (HELP PLEASE)

The OP does not appear to have been back since posting. Have you tried some of the above...cleaning radiator...fuse check...fan check? I have not had the issue but this is where I would start.
Thank you for the response. The scooter has now been to the BMW Dealership three times. They claim to have done the following: check that the fan kicks in properly, updated the software, checked the strainers, replaced the temperature sensor, checked that the radiator is clean, checked the radiator cap and thermostat. The red warning light is still coming on at speeds above 120 kph. It resets when speed is reduced. For now it looks like we are out of options.

Use OBD to actually see what temp it is running at.

Water pump? I had an old truck that would do this. Everything checked out fine and water pump worked perfectly at lower rpm but higher speed run the pump couldn't handle the load placed on it and engine would heat up to unsafe levels. New pump cured it.

Other thought is air in cooling system? Is there an air bleed procedure for the cooling system?

Just thinking out loud for you.

Old thread I notice but I'll jump in here anyway.
I just experienced the same problem today after having pushed pretty hard the first 40 kms. (Between 130 and 150 km/h)
After the engine had cooled I could drive back home with no issues by staying between 110 and 120. It still smells hot though.
Thanks for the tips of possible fixes. Will check out the radiator tomorrow.

As I travel on the motocycle (BMW c600) aftrer 40 km at a speed of 120-150 km/h a red warning lamp illuminates and shows water temperature, Just lowering speeds the lamp goes off. I check the water level and everything is normal (OK), diagnosed by the delegation BMW and saying there everything is OK, if i run with the same speed the red warning light is coming back. ANY HELP PLEASE !!!!
2016 C650GT Same problem, the coolant is normal, it's red Hazzard
Triangle 🔺️ with a temp gauge for
the engine oil I presume because
the Coolant is at the normal temp.

From this thread, common causes are:
- dirty radiator 》remove and clean (the outside)
- thermostat faulty, not opening properly 》check and replace if needed
- blown fan fuse 》check and replace if needed
- fuse good but fan kaput 》replace fan, then verify it comes on when engine idles when temps are high

However if it overheats at high speeds then it can't be the fan, since that only really helps at low speeds, so then suspect the radiator or thermostat

I experienced this exact symton and found I had sucked a leaf in and it was blocking about 80% of the filter. Pulled the filter out (this is how I found the leaf) then removed the leaf, never had the problem again
