Anyone have the Crash / Trim bar + Auxiliary Headlights?

I enjoy riding my scooter at night but could use just slightly more low beam. High beams perform wonderfully but don't want to ride around with them on the entire time.

Anyone fitted the Trim Panel Protection Bars:

I had the dealer install the Wunderlich crash bars on my C 400 GT before I took deliver a few weeks ago. That might help you out. See my gallery for a few pics and part #:

Also, when my wife and I were touring in Europe last month, on a C 400 X, Edelweiss had installed crash bars on those bikes. I don't know what brand they were, but they stuck out much more, and might be better for adding lights. Ohio, I think you would be pleased with the Cyclops LED replacement lamps, one year ago I installed a set in my 2013 GT. The company I used to work for laid me off because I wouldn't retire, I would get to work between 0400 and 0430, check the property, check with the night shift, make sure the climate control started and have the shops ready by 0600 for the day shift.
My cut off was 35 degrees, below that I drove the truck, summer in Georgia was just miserable if traffic stopped but that summer morning ride in was glorious. All that to say the Cyclops LED are canbus compatible, were a MAJOR upgrade over the original incandescent lamps, mimic the original light pattern (many LED replacement lamps DON'T as they won't work with the factory headlight reflector) are a pain to install if you have large hands. After the VTX1800 with the "Daymaker" LED replacement headlight with the 2 additional "driving" lights also converted to LED I wanted bright white light down the road on this scoot; I went through the forum and web offerings to see what was out there and decided to try the Cyclops, that was all I needed. I actually got up early this morning to go for a "dark" ride, the headlight STILL impress me.

It's not clear to me: do you have the 400 X or the 400 GT?

When my wife and I were on a couple of Edelweiss tours in May, we were on an X with crashbars (but the tour guides didn't know their origin, e.g., stock or aftermarket):

When I ordered my GT (in May, picked up in June), when I told the saleswoman that I wanted front crashbars, the dealer ordered and installed the Wunderlich bars for me:

I have the GT, was hopeful BMW had a factory option because I like their LED lights that attach to it but it looks like it's only available ( from BMW ) on the X.

The ones on the X in the top photo look like BMW OEM, bottom looks aftermarket.
 
I installed black aftermarket crash bars with the aux lights off my S1000XR (I installed Denali D4 light on the XR). I didn't have instructions, but managed to figure it out fairly easily. If you scoot has heated seat and heated grips it will have the wiring for the aux lights. If no heated options, no wiring for the aux lights. I bought used switchgear from someplace in europe and had my BMW dealer program the ECU so the lights would work.

I just bought the $139 crash bars from eBay (Chinese no name) for the C400X, and if they look as good as BMW I'll keep them. I wanted black on my white scooter. I'll post an update when they arrive.

I’m curious about something. Why does the ECU need to be updated for aftermarket lights?
