Hello all.
Please, does anyone know, if i want to install heated grips and seat (i did not add them as pack during buying) need new wiring or something?
Thanks all in advance.
I believe that you'd just need the new grips and seat.
That is, take a look at a parts diagram. In your case, I was looking at
https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=60735&rnd=09082020 . This is listed as pertaining to the 2018 - 2020 C 400 X, and there doesn't appear to be a newer fiche, at least at Max BMW (
https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/partsfiche.aspx). So let's make the assumption that nothing significant has changed, if you have a newer model.
Next, scroll down to the grips diagram:
You can see that there are different grips, based on whether they're heated or not.
Last, scroll farther down, to the wiring harness:
Unlike the grips, there is only one wiring harness available.
This is what I would've guessed to be the case, and, to me, implies that your bike comes with a harness that already has the wiring in place for heated grips and seat, i.e., unused connectors tucked away someplace. Of course, you might need new grips, seat, and new switchgear to control them, which might be more than you want to spend or work on.
Bottom line: I don't actually know the answer to your question, but the info above explains why my guess is that your bike is wired for either situation, i.e., heat or no heat.
