Does anyone have an idea what is needed to remove the battery? I was adding a tender and dropped the screws and can’t get them out of the bike now.
Looks like it should lift out but there is all the plastic in the way.
If you have the owner's manual, battery removal is covered reasonably well in pages 164-167 (USA version). If you don't have it, I can post those pages from the PDF version I have.
I don't think I've actually completely removed the battery, but I did get in there to work with it, on both my former '22 C 400 GT and my current '23. I needed to attach leads from my added Powerlet socket in the left-side tupperware. As I recall, it wasn't much of a problem.
What I recall is the fuse cover just sort of snaps in place. And that larger plastic in front -- the part that holds the circular RFI pickup coil -- can be moved aside by squeezing some of its sides, to sort of unlatch it, and then just sliding it away (as far as the connecting wires will allow).
Remember that when working with batteries, always disconnect the negative/ground/black battery terminal first, and move those wires aside, and then disconnect the positive/red/hot side terminal. This way, there'll be no possibility of causing a short if a wrench or screwdriver hits bodywork. Reconnection is the opposite procedure.
