Has anyone installed the Wind Rider Seat Cover to their C400GT? If so, did you have to remove the seat completely? If you did, did you remove hinge from seat, install cover then put hinge back on? I know you have to remove back rest but that looks easy enough.

I just bought one and so far cannot get it on the bike. I am not prepared to dismantle the seat to confirm my suspicions about it. To fit it you have to pull it on so that it completely wraps round underneath the edge. I don't see how you can do this and still have a hinge in place. Further more, the material will block your lock mechanism so the seat will not lock down. Finally, the two velcro straps are going to get in the way of your luggage carrying abilities. The seat goes on over the bum stop so far as I can see and is very stretchy so it conforms to the shape of the saddle. It will work fine with a conventional motorbike saddle but I don't think it will work on a scooter. I am in corespondence with Windrider so I may have a more positve update at a later point....

I haven’t tried yet, but this is what I found on their reviews. I also asked them and was told that where it was needed, you cut a hole and burn the ends. Let me know what you end up doing please.

“Fitted to a BMW C409GT scooter. The hardest part was removing the and refitting the seat & back rest.Really comfortable to sit on and I don't slide around as before. The cooling aspect is really great I was a little dubious at first but it works treat. Will definitely order one for my M109R when they come into production. Big thumbs up.”

What a faff! It is supposed to be made for the bike but no, you have to modify one from their stock supply. Not prepared to do that but I do not suppose they will offer a refund. We will see. As a side note, there is a fitment size tag inside the cover which in my mind is proof it is a generic seat cover.

Slightly related, I had a Windrider cover on my previous Honda PCX bike, which I had to work with them a little bit on via email since my 2024 model wasn't in their list yet, but they had me take some specific pictures of my bike to send them and a couple weeks later my cover arrived. It did wrap over the whole seat, and did interfere a little with underseat storage with the velcro straps but otherwise a perfect fit. It did not interfere with the Honda's locking mechanism. It was a much more comfortable sit on and not slide around than stock seat.

I haven't been interested in getting one on my C400GT. The seats are far more comfortable than the Honda was and feel like this would interfere with the heated seats quite a bit. Maybe in the Summer time it would be OK though.... I'll follow this thread. If seat assembly / disassembly is required every time the cover goes on or off I'll probably pass.

Just got one for c400x fits but will not lock due to covers thickness preventing the components from meeting

I have pictures etc to them and suspect a return refund , not suitable for a hinged locking seat.

I put an Airhawk on my seat. This thing is filled with a little air. I thought for sure it would completely kill the effect of the heated seat but that is not so. It may take longer to feel the heat but it still comes through and once the air in the Airhawk gets hot it works really well.

Wind rider have offered a refund which is ok , however I’ve paid postage for the dubious privilege of finding out it was not fit for purpose ,such is life
