I have the 2022 C400 GT and I have looked everywhere online for compatible luggage systems ( side bags and top case ). Maybe it’s so difficult for me since I’m on the US. Does anyone know of any systems that will fit and where I could order from ?

Hello friends!

I am new here with my C400 GT here in the states and I am also looking for some soft saddle bag solutions. I have tried a couple and they do not seem to work. It seems like some mounting solution would be necessary (Kind of like the big GS) but I cannot find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@piperedworm and @StrangeCloud:

I have some experience with luggage, and might be able to help out, but I need to know two major sub-topics:

First, what type of luggage, exactly, are you looking for?

1) I get the feeling that you're interested in throw-over soft saddlebags, with adjustable-length straps that go over or underneath the seat. I'm thinking of something like I used 14 years ago for a week-long trip to Gaspe (Canada) that I took with my wife on our 650 Burgman scooter (and I forget the brand, and no longer have those):

2) Or you could be interested in 100% waterproof throw-over luggage, something like the offerings from Moto Mosko (https://moskomoto.com/), which Itchy Boots uses in her mostly off-road travels, or similar offerings from, say, Kriega (https://kriega.us/), another well-known brand that offers similarly robust and expensive dry-bag configurations.

3) However, if I'm wrong here, you might also be interested in luggage on top of a passenger seat, if the issue is solo, and not two-up, travel. In that case, that would be something like the Saddleman bag (https://www.saddlemen.com/tr3300de-deluxe-rack-bag-universal-1) that I used for a 2,000-mile solo trip to NC and back this summer (and was very pleased with):

I used a similar bag from Aerostitch -- a Medium MotoFizz (https://www.aerostich.com/bags/seat-rack-bags/medium-motofizz-camping-seat-bag.html) for about 20 years, but it was starting to get a little tattered (and I would have purchased a new one for the trip, but they were backordered at the time). Here are two of those bags, one on my Victory and one on my buddy's Beemer, from 11 years ago (at the Barber Motorsports Museum, on our way to Texas):

And so forth.

Second, what brands have you looked at (and apparently vetoed)?

There are a fair number of manufacturers who make quality luggage for bikes. In addition to the brands above, the high-quality brands Nelson-Rigg, Wolfman, Touratech, and SW-Motech come to mind. You can also get a look at some of the companies and some of their offerings via, say, a search at Revzilla (a very big moto retail outfit, along with its newish partner Cycle Gear): https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle-luggage-and-bags?query=luggage

So, if you already checked out some of the bigger players, it would be helpful if you list the brands that don't have what you're looking for.

That's all I have for now.

Hi. I've got a 2013 C650 Gt. I'm looking for some opinions on luggage. I hate those cases on the back, (ugly) and thinking about some type of seat bag. Also, anyone have one of those tunnel bags that fit in the front? Do you like them? Thanks

Have you considered a potentially large top case?

I realize that you're talking about a 650 here, and I have a 400. Still, you might get some inspiration in my report of replacing the 30-liter BMW top case with a Shad 59X on my 400. I have about 30 pics-and-captions on this mod in my 400 gallery, starting with this image:

I used my Saddleman rear-seat bag (see post #4 here) only once in three years of 400 ownership, on an eight-day trip. For all other occasions, the adjustable-size Shad has been perfect: I ride with it in the lowest position, but occasionally put it in medium (say, to hold a jacket liner at a lunch stop) or large (if my wife is a passenger, and so need to put her helmet somewhere for a lunch stop).
