Well, I finally took the plunge. I traded in my 2011 Triumph Bonnie T100 for a 2014 C 650 GT - No thanks to all of you wonderful human beings.

Honestly, I'd like to thank the site admin for putting this board up and allowing a lot of great people to speak their mind and give out a lot of information about BMW Scooters. Speaking with you guys really helped push me into the right direction. Despite some of the technical issues I hear that you guys are having it seems like a lot of members are still happy with their purchase. I hope I end up the same way.

Anyway, the scoot arrives to my garage tomorrow. Hopefully I will have some time to post some pictures.

Thanks again for all of your help. You are all fantastic.

Well, you can always sit on it and make a few vroom vroom noises.

Also, very glad to see you went the gentleman route with the 650GT rather than being one of those C600 party animals.:D

I was just in Iowa for a few weeks and it appears that spring is just around the corner. At least there have been days above freezing that would allow some around town trips. Welcome to the forum and Welcome to the Club.

Thank you, fellas. I'm super happy to get it. I also added a Vespa S150 to the mix. I previously had a GTV 250 before I went the route of the Bonnie but something about leaving scooters behind was creating a hole in my heart.

Edumakated - do you know of any other scoot riders in the Chicagoland area?

I don't know too many other riders. I've mainly been commuting with my scoot (Oak Park to Loop). However, my co-worker also has a silver BMW C600. I have the Matte Blue c600. I know of another guy working downtown with a c650. I see a ton of Vespas and Stellas in the Loop though. I also have a Vespa 300.

I'm hoping to meet some folks for summer cruising though.

Ah Oak Park. We're not too far away. I'm over in LaGrange Park, just about 10 or 15 min southwest of you.

Quick story, there's a guy in Oak Park named Randy who runs a nice Bonneville blog who got into an accident over the summer and trashed his bike. I've written to him a few times about maintenance and whatever. Really nice fella. Anyway, I was looking for some spare parts on Craigslist a while back and found a set of mirrors from Oak Park. When I showed up at the guys house to pick them up I recognized him instantly from his Blog. I also dated a few girls from that area for about 2 months at a time. Whatever the case is, It just seems like the center of the universe is in Oak Park.

I ride through LaGrange all the time. I sometimes take Ogden out to Brookfield to go to Galloping Ghost arcade (neat vintage video game place). There are a few scooterist in Oak Park. I've seen a few guys riding BMW motorcycles as well. Oak Parkers love to think they are they center of the universe.

Once the weather clears up, we'll have to meet up for a ride. I was actually considering a bonneville at one point, but decided the scooters met my needs better. I'm still thinking of getting an R Nine T though.
