Hi all,is it possible to change the standard TFT display to the larger 10.25 inch?
I'd say that it's possible ... but not at all practical.
I believe that the larger TFT is/was an option on the '24 or '25 GT. To change over from the smaller TFT you'd need: the bigger TFT; the plastic trim piece(s) that surround and support it; and possibly a new windscreen. (I'm not sure about the windscreen, but that was recently updated, too, to support a manually repositioning system, and the newer trim pieces might require that.
I can't find a parts fiche for the newer models, but the older diagrams note that the smaller TFT is pretty expensive.
Looking at the parts fiche at Max BMW (my local dealer, a large multi-location BMW-only outfit),
https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=62062&rnd=10232024 shows the smaller screen at USD 2600. I'm sure you can get that cheaper searching the whole world, but I just wanted to give you an idea of the cost. And that's for the smaller screen!
And the trim pieces aren't free, either:
(And that's just a start for the trim.)
And you'd probably need a dealer to update your '19's firmware to support that display (or find another way of accomplishing that).
All in all you're talking a huge amount of money, it seems to me, maybe even more than your bike's current worth. Of course, I'm a fine one to talk, having spent last year more than USD 600 to get BMW's internal TPMS sensors installed in my '23 GT, so I can understand obsessions, if you're really set on making this change.
But you're talking way more than that. To accomplish your goal, you might spend a similar amount if you sold your '19 and bought a '25. In which case you'd get some other improvements, such as throttle-by-wire.
Sorry, but that's my take on your question.
