That part of your post caught my eye. I went from a 150 cc Honda scoot to the C650GT. When I test drove it (and the 600 sport), I was very intimidated by its size. (Now, some days I think I want it to be bigger). But I quickly "grew into it" and am glad it is large because it feels so solid and safe, yet nimble on the road. It takes the highway buffeting very well. Without wanting to start a war between the 650 and 600 owners, because they are both great bikes, I chose the 650 because of its trunk, longer leg room, windscreen and especially for its feel of a touring bike, which was and still is the first priority I had when choosing a new ride. I offered on both. The blue one in long beach sold Wednesday. I am considering the silver. I would rather not pay new prices though. Thanks for keeping an eye out.
 
I wish it was sold here. I have looked at the other DCT bikes. Not a fan of the touring version. Plus by the time I equip it the way I want it costs the same as the BMW.
 
Yeah. I basically need to find a c600 at a price i agree with. Don't know if I said it here but the mana would cost $20 more each month in insurance over the c600. Plus by the time i add the side cases, you're talking $12000 for a new mana.

Maybe the new vespa 300 with ABS & ASR, and a Mana would be a great 2 bike combo. I'm not wealthy so a single scooter that can do it all is my ticket.
 
I really don't like the look of the maxi scooters as a whole. The two BMW's are on a different level visually imo.

Why not? Fat, slow, small wheels, marginal brakes, engine mounted "scooter style' on the swing arm, cheap rear tube shocks, terrible brake dive...but CHEAP?

If finances preclude a C600, consider a Tmax 500. A stock 500 with $70 worth of Dr. Pulley sliders is quicker than both Beemers up to about 80mph, handles great, has more riding storage than the C600 (but less than the C650) and weighs LESS than 500 pounds.

Here's one in the Bay Area for $4,400 with only 4,400 miles, and has accessories; this is a DEAL!

That used blue TMax is a good looking bike, too. But, honestly, if you want the best go for the best and don't let a couple hundred bucks get in your way. As soon as you find and buy a "deal" another one will show up just down the street anyway.
 
yeah, I've pretty much decided on the C600. I really want ABS, which knocks out most scooters and I want a scooter for all of their practicality. I don't think I would dislike riding most others, but I might regret not buying the C600. So, as Steve in Ohio says, a few hundred bucks, not that big. I'll keep on looking, not for some unreasonable deal, but for a price I think is within my comfort zone.
 
A deal is in the works. Price is agreed, purchase order sent to my credit union, loan approved and check in my hand. Now it's matter of completing the paperwork and getting it back to the dealer. It is the C600 skutorr quoted earlier in the thread. Silver 2013. Thanks for all of the help. Of course no one will believe me without pics so hold your horses already; I don't have it yet!
