I just can't seem to get my BMW dealership to help me or they can't solve the problem. I had the recall done , but it has returned again.does anybody know what is the actual problem because BMW doesn't know

Mine is back as well, not as bad as before but still there every time I pull away from a stop. Will bring it back to the dealer AGAIN and see what they can do. They still have two new 600 Sport on the lot that they use as demo or loaner bikes so they can compare the difference between a barking and non-barking bike! Will report on what they do or not do depending...

It's not a problem, it's a noise. Common among belts and clutches.

Their is allot of hype about installing the Dr.pulley for performance and so on ? Do yo think this will resolve the issue of the seal bark. Mine is is getting worse every time I ride .

It happen on mine initially but now no more.. don't know what was done .. or it just disappear by itself after some times. My experience with other scooter Dr. Pulley slider do helps. But I think it's more like the belt not seating in the Vee and cure itself after some time.

Btw, don't worry to much on the bark. It happen to many type of scooters, it will not damage anything. Typical belt cvt noise. You can clean the variator and clutch face... may disappear for awhile then may comes back. I don't think bmw can do much on this one, they may need to redesign the belt maybe.

Right. Maybe with failures or a recall, but other than that, BMW is not spending another DIME they aren't forced to...

BMW replace my clutch and housing to cure the shudder I was getting from a standing start, there was a bit of a bark as well and that is now gone and the bike is very smooth. The tech said there was an internal bulletin on this issue.

to add to this issue, my C600 still has'nt made this noise and i still havn't felt any of the usual belt slip issues i have had with many of the auto's i have owned in all the years of riding. my little vespa does exactly what you guy's are saying and i know that the belt is of an unknown milage and probably needs replacing.
to me the issue is just belt slipage on the pulleys and this is normal, i use brake cleaner to clean the dust off the surfaces which does help but probably a new belt is the best solution if you can't live with it but that would get pricey.
on my C600, i still have had no concern to even look in on the issue as it still is ok. my cover has never been off. i know that the 5000 miles isn't a lot and tbh, i would not expect to have to look in at that milage. i do think a lot of this issue could be down to usage and particularly heat effect.
4 years ago i owned a piaggio 125 typhoon and the bark on that was amazing, every time i set off it went off like a rocket and that was almost the noise it made, the noise was between a firework going off and a turbo dump valve. my friend had an aprilia SR125 with the same motor and this made exactly the same noise. i kept on top of cleaning the pulleys and belt but it made no difference.
the only bug bear i can think of with this is every now and then, combined with this noise is that you get a vibe through the scoot when the belt slips but i found this to be not every time and again, this was due to usage.
i think that a lot of town work highlights this, the fact that the belt is up and down the ramps of the variator and slipping due to many take off's.
my C600 really only gets used hard and fast on either long motorway runs or blasting around the country lanes and i am sure this is why i still hav'nt yet come accross mine having this issue.
i do hope this kinda makes you guys feel a little more at ease with your issues, i wish i could shed more light on this but i hav'nt experienced this on any of the C600/650'S i have worked on but do know other auto's have this issue.

I'd add that I have almost 15,000 miles on my original belt, and have never heard this sound.

Hi all,
My bike has been at BMW now for three weeks. Finally they found the problem to be in the clutch. From what they tell me that BMW has redesigned the the clutch to solve the problem that I have or many other customers . So now I wait for the the parts to arrv

Sorry I'm waiting for the parts arrive from Germany. I really hope this is the end of my problems. I have only had this bike 1 year and it been in for repairs more times than I can remember. This to me has really been a poor show on BMW side. According to my dealership her in South Africa that they will not bring this bike into the country anymore due to the problems they have had.
