If I recall some article correctly, I think it refers to self-canceling turn signals (new on the 2023 models). Please explain ‘comfort turn signal’
TIA
I find these very annoying and, in my view, unsafe as the indicators don't stay on long enough, even if you long-press the switch. You can get the code changed/removed so the length of time they flash is increased or they can be switched off completely - I'm hoping to get that done this week as they're driving me nuts and I don't feel safe with them auto-cancelling. I don't think it's a firmware update because when I asked about this previously they said BMW won't do a firmware update 'off the cuff' on request so to speak and will only do when 'they' feel one is needed - I gather it's just a question of changing a code but we as owners cannot access the option, go figure! I think we as the riders/owners know how we feel safe or not, seeminly typical BMW and this, amongst other niggles, makes me wonder/regret why I bought my current bike!I have a 2023 c400gt with TFT Display, how do you turn off the comfort turn signal? in the manual I see it accessible in multifunctional display, but not the TFT display, maybe I'm just not seeing it ?
Thanks Terry

I completely agree with you re us being able to worry about turning them off - they certainly cancel too soon and yes, I realise that this is not only a BMW feature, don't worry - I could only speak for my bike of course. How do you enjoy your GT? Do you have a top-case on yours? The on-board storage is laughable compared to my old, missed and much loved Burgie 650!! Ride safe my friend.First off, I agree with you.
Second, it's not just BMW, though. For instance, I bought a new Victory Cross Country Tour in 2012 (sold in 2017). It had self-canceling turn signals, too. There was an algorithm that varied the cancellation based on speed, distance, and maybe some other factors, and I often found that it canceled the signals earlier than I would like. And there was no way that the owner or a shop could disable this "feature."
On that bike and my current '22 C 400 GT, this means that the rider has to pay MORE attention to the turn signals, not LESS, in order to make sure they stay on until you actually turn or change lanes. I would much rather just turn on the signals, and let me worry about making sure that I turn them off.
I've owned two Execs: a 2007, from 2007 - 2012, and a 2008, from 2016 - 2022! Off topic...but sorry to hear about the CE04. It seems that all EV manufacturers have chosen the Microsoft launch strategy of launching betas as commercial ready products. Repeats over and over again; though I hear Tesla has it kind of worked out.I just picked up a new C400GT. I have also looked for the self cancellation adjustment in the total system, nothing. Anyone know the latest software version.
Alas sad to also report I got rid of my CE04. Its a great bike, but not really built for Scottish weather.. I commute rain, sun or snow.. I got sick of error messages.
It is an available option in my 23 GT...settings>vehicle settings>Lights>Comfort turn signals. If you want them off, use the selector wheel and press to the right unchecking the checkbox on the right of the prompt and the text to the right reads "on." The text on the right provides you with the option that is available for the function, so when "on" is displayed the comfort turn signals are off. When "off" is displayed, the comfort signals are on, and the prompt is telling you that the option available is to turn them off.I just picked up a new C400GT. I don't know where you're based but if you're in the UK and have a BMW dealership near you, you can go to them and they will change the code for the self cancelling indicators to stop them doing this – I had this done and I feel so much safer on my bike. It's worth £30. I have the 2022 model if that helps – I don't know if they've updated the bikes this year to include this as a user option.I just picked up a new C400GT.
