Snowdog you are a good human being and on many occasions I have aspired to do the same kind of thing. Unfortunately what I have noticed many times the person with the challenge is also hung up with a couple of issues - pride/ego and embarrassment. I recall many years ago I had just completed a...

Got the 2016 model and in Canada we get the Euro/Japanese spec NC750X rather than the US NC700X. Main difference is 745 vs 670cc and some other features. https://motorcycle.honda.ca/model/adventure/nc750xa

It was 115 degrees at Badwater, Death Valley. Two days later passing through Vail, CO on way home and it was 20 degrees and snowing. For gear I have a Klim jacket and pants, both Goretex. I found they were great for extremes with zippered venting in both. Lucky to get on sale at about 35% off...

    Thank you!

The "frunk" (fake tank) on the Honda holds a full face (my Neotech) helmet so not quite as much as the BMW but I have done several CostCo runs with that and panniers. Zero is an interesting bike but very little in dealerships here in Canada.

    Thank you!

A few months ago I sold my C600 Sport and bought a Honda NC750X. There were several reasons I made the change but the option of a DCT transmission made it an easier charge. Just recently completed a 10,000km trip from Toronto to California on the Honda and it was an amazing trip. Its not my...

    Emergency Braking: Scooter vs Motorcycle

That's strange as I had a friendly argument with BMW Toronto mechanic who with scoot on ramp applied brake and rear wheel stopped. I was saying it was not linked - he assured me it was.

    Helmet for hot weather!

I was starting to lean this way as the Neotech is quite well ventilated and I think the modular will keep me better protected from effect of sun - here's hoping I don't get too much other than that on the way!

    Helmet for hot weather!

Thanks - I have a Camelbak that I used before but the neck cover I didn't think of but will pick up.

    Helmet for hot weather!

I am shortly going to take a long trip from Toronto to Santa Monica to cover a significant part of Route 66. On the way back I am spending a few days in Death Valley. I have a Shoei J-Cruise which I guess is classified as open face (visor goes past chin) and a Shoei Neotech. As I haven't taken...
