Thanks - and sorry for the delay in replying. The rack is actually branded BMW, not Shad, but the top box is branded both BMW and Shad, and I couldn't get google to be that specific. I guess I need to have a good look at two bikes side by side to see if they're the same.

The light shouldn't be on (except briefly, during power-up), but it doesn't necessarily mean that there is a current fault. There's loads of intermittent issues that can cause that light to come, and once it's on it will probably stay on until someone hooks up a diagnostic box of some sort and...

Just got back from a couple of weeks away, and the bike refused to start. Motoscan reported faults with injectors, coils and oxygen sensor, which all seemed to much to happen at the same time, so I started thinking about other possible causes. As a starting point, I unplugged the main ECU and...

Checked all of this stuff (had both hoses off and examined them in detail), and it all seemed in good order. But replaced one of the coil packs, and the bike was much improved, although still not running perfectly.

I'm running a Mitsuboshi from Carpimoto on my 2013 C650GT. runs just fine. I think it's made in the same factory as the OEM one, certainly the one I bought had exactly the same markings, in the same fonts, etc as the OEM one I took off - it just lacked the BMW badge.

In UK there are companies that specialise in gas struts - you order what you want by length, force, end fittings etc. I assume that there will be similar suppliers in your market. It's worth a google rather than having to sell a kidney for the OE part. For reference, in the UK I use these...
