Does BMW top box carrier fit all years?

Thanks - and sorry for the delay in replying. The rack is actually branded BMW, not Shad, but the top box is branded both BMW and Shad, and I couldn't get google to be that specific. I guess I need to have a good look at two bikes side by side to see if they're the same.

    Question for a 2013 C 650 GT owner

The light shouldn't be on (except briefly, during power-up), but it doesn't necessarily mean that there is a current fault. There's loads of intermittent issues that can cause that light to come, and once it's on it will probably stay on until someone hooks up a diagnostic box of some sort and...

Engine stalling when slowing - test idle control device?

Just got back from a couple of weeks away, and the bike refused to start. Motoscan reported faults with injectors, coils and oxygen sensor, which all seemed to much to happen at the same time, so I started thinking about other possible causes. As a starting point, I unplugged the main ECU and...

Engine stalling when slowing - test idle control device?

Checked all of this stuff (had both hoses off and examined them in detail), and it all seemed in good order. But replaced one of the coil packs, and the bike was much improved, although still not running perfectly.

Does BMW top box carrier fit all years?

Thinking about swapping my 2013 650GT for a much later model. Trouble is, I like the Shad top box on mine but none of the ones for sale in the UK seem to have a top box or rack. One option might be to keep the rack when I sell my bike, but is the rack (& box) on the 2013 compatible with...

    New model coming?

The seller has updated the description to clarify that it's not the next model due on 1 Mar, just the next MOT (statutory test) that's due then. Hopes dashed.

    New model coming?

Edit: the seller has update his description, and is no longer suggesting that there's a new model due. Just been scanning through bike trader (a UK bike sales site), as I'm thinking about replacing my 2013 with a newer one. One of the posts said the C650 sport was discontinued (which it is)...

fender extender on a 3d printer

Sounds like an interesting challenge. Is there an OEM one that could be copied? What do you reckon it would have to be made from? ABS (which I can't do), thermoplastic polyurethane (which I can do) (Another) Mike the bike Coventry UK

    2013 drive belt replacement C650gt

I'm running a Mitsuboshi from Carpimoto on my 2013 C650GT. runs just fine. I think it's made in the same factory as the OEM one, certainly the one I bought had exactly the same markings, in the same fonts, etc as the OEM one I took off - it just lacked the BMW badge.

    Seat Hydraulic Closure Cylinder

In UK there are companies that specialise in gas struts - you order what you want by length, force, end fittings etc. I assume that there will be similar suppliers in your market. It's worth a google rather than having to sell a kidney for the OE part. For reference, in the UK I use these...

    BMW C650GT

You can find part numbers on this web site: https://www.bike-parts-bmw.co.uk/bmw-motorcycle The OE drive belt is 24 82 7 729 767, and it will cost you (at least) an arm and a leg. Assuming that they ship to Aus, it's worth having a look at carpimoto.it They sell the Mitsuboshi branded...

    C600 Sport/C650 GT Belt Replacement

In the UK, the tool wasn't that expensive - around £35 if I recall correctly. I doubt that there's a generic substitute.

How important is the oil pickup pipe?

I was reading through the BMW workshop manual and happened across the initial service instructions. I think the idea is that any bits of swarf in a new engine will be collected by the filter before getting into the oil pump. Once the engine has had its first oil and filter change, it’s assumed...

    Parking brake

There's a special way to adjust the parking brake. First you adjust the cable, with the side stand retracted so that distance "A" is 56mm, then you slacken the locknut (near the top of the big arrow in this photo) and adjust the centre screw until the brake is working correctly. Finally...
