This appears to be fixed with the 2014 650's with the raised seat package. However, like the dope that I am, I accidentally popped the gas tank before dismounting and kicked it off. Lucky for me I didn't break the connectors.

Agreed. I used to take my 250 GTV on I-55 and I-290. After 5 or 6 trips I said forget it. I actually like my life.

I haven't had time to go through this entire thread but have you tried hounding their Twitter account? Ive found that most companies will try to do double time on this stuff when they are outed publicly. It may not work all the time but my experience has been positive in that arena.
