If you have already had your bike serviced for the chain tensioner recall, wanted to know if any of you noticed the engine had a louder revving sound? I noticed that on mine. Did any of you noticed? Your thoughts?
At a stop light, the driver next to me in a BMW suv rolled down his window, gave me a thumbs up and said, "Nice."
In another occasion, while at a stop a guy in a new Harley Davidson didn't even once turned to look at me or my 650gt..... I took that as a compliment.
@exavid @Lance My windshield always looks bug free. Chemicalguys.com has a great product for windshields. Streak free. Amazing. Love the product.

I too have to confess that it was hard for me to let go of my 1300 Star Tourer, but now owning the 650gt I remind myself that I was looking for more amenities, comfort and technology and this bike has all that, plus reaching 90 mph effortlessly....sweeeeet!
Wow, really nice review Lance. I mean it's really refreshing to remind us all of this bike's attributes. I was getting pretty bummed just reading all the recall complaints in the "Technical" section of the forum. Great pics too. Mine is same color.
Thanks for the replys guys.....keep it coming. The more input on this timing belt issue the better we can help and inform our fellow forum members. I think this is an awesome UMV, but if BMW needs to make improvements they need to hear it from us.
I'm curious and would like to take a poll from all who see this post to find out who so far have noticed problems with the timing belt and if so what was your odometer reading at the time.
I'm going to remove the Back-off XP module and install the Hyper-Lites on my 650gt after very good comments and results posted. I'm not tech savvy, so I'm asking if someone who's installed it can give me some quick tips or instructions. Here are some pics.
I think I'm going to have the BackOff XP removed. You sold me on the Hyper Lites. I'm not technically inclined so I think I'll take it to dealer and have them install it.

Well I definitely had the tech guys researching. They had never worked on the 650gt scooter. After looking up info they said that the 650gt does not come with the CANBUS.....Any how, so what do your Hyperlites do? Flicker? Where did you get them? What are they called?
Your are correct. If you install separate lights it doesn't affect the computer that triggers the WARNING light. That is the alternative that the BMW dealer gave me. It's only when you are messing with the existing lights and add a module.
