    disappointed with BMW

My mpg average is stuck on 53.3, so I am happy with that. I have not been riding too much lately, as my back gave me bad trouble with pulled muscles etc. My chiro said it could have very well been due to the bikes jarring ride, plus the fact that I put over 8000 miles on it in a few months.

    Oil Warning Light

At 8100 miles, and all up-to-date service by the dealer, mine does the exact same thing. I once brought it in to my dealers service dept. and the tech who did my first oil change ($$$) checked it out and said the oil was exactly in the middle of add and full. He said he would send BMW an...

Why did you choose the BMW?

The Laminar lip did not work for me. When the windshield was in its lowest setting, it actually added substantial wind noise. When the windshiled was up fully, wind noise was decreased, but not abundantly so, and I hated looking through the 2 creases that the Laminar lip created. I took it off.

Why did you choose the BMW?

Bose just came out with noise canellation earbuds ($300) which fit under my Schuberth C3, and the wind noise is greatly diminished. Not quite a Cone of Silence, but not too bad either. I will upgrade to a different windscreen once they become available and others have tested them for noise...

Why did you choose the BMW?

Mostly the unique styling of the bike, and the strong BMW heritage. I thought by having lots of wind protection and heated grips and seats I would be able to comfortably ride for hundreds of miles at a time, but such is not the case. I guess I'm waiting for BMW to make a dual clutch...

BMW C Series Owners with Multiply Road Bikes

Yes I have heard that too, but so far, after 18000 miles, I have not had parts-waiting problems with my Mana. All regular maintainence parts (belts, filters, etc) were quickly recieved by the dealer in Akron OH. Were they reasonably priced? HELL NO!

    Clickety clack chain tensioner snaped

I went on a ride yesterday with my riding club and one of the riders wife had a new C600 and the fuel pump went out at 10000 miles. There is no stock of that part in the USA. I hope we did not buy $11k lemons.

I need a new front tire already

At 6100 miles, I replaced my front tire with a Michelin Sport SC tire. $179 installed. The Feel Free rear tire still looks good at 7000 miles.

My other bike is a 2009 Aprilia Mana 850. The ride is much smoother than my C650, but offers less wind protection, as it is called a "naked" bike. It has more power than the 650 and its engine seems smoother and more refined as well.

    Which model do you own?

I'm going to Italy late next month and I will keep a keen eye out for them.

I need a new front tire already

I got that Z speed rating from BMW Motorrad USA websight under specs for the C650 GT. When I got off my ass to look at the sidewall numbers on my own bike, they read, just like yours, 120/70/R15 M/C56H. I stand corrected! So, what speed rating are those tires, not that it makes much...

    Which model do you own?

Platinum C650 GT from Piaggio mp3 500. I still have my Aprilia Mana 850

    Speedo Accuracy

That is really good to know. Thanks for checking. I thought the speedometer on the BMW read high as everybody and their brother was passing me up. I guess I'll have to ride a bit faster.
