Installing BMW GPS Mounting Bracket Hardware and BMW Navigator VI/Cradle on 2016 and later C650GT

The entire black plastic cover pulls back towards the seat. The BMW NAV cradle is a real pain in the arse to fit - I ended up getting the dealer to do it at my next service. It is the only scooter work/mod that has ever stuffed me!

    Plate Eliminator??

My 2017 GT with blind spot indicators has the rear sonar sensors built-in to the plate holder / mudflap (the big holes in the picture). Something to watch out for for those contemplating the chop, as interfering with these will throw a canbus error...

    Hand brake starting issue.

It's the wiring loom rubbing on the steering hub. Happened to mine. If you turn to the left it might start. It's a known issue, my dealer fixed this for free. Note the brake light may not work when riding straight ahead and only using back brake so this is a safety issue, should be a recall I...

    Talk me out of a C650GT ?

It’s well covered above. I would just add that she is a big fat lass. Weighs the same as a full size touring bike, as much as an RT. If you’re fine with that I won’t talk you out of it.

'09 TMax vs '18 GT observations.

I traded a 2015 Tmax 530 for a 2017 GT. I concur with most of the above. I find the GT more accomodating of my 6’1 frame. Tmax is smoother, but with 25,000km on the GT now it is running quite smoothly. When warm that is, cold it still runs like an angry tractor! The GT has very uneven throttle...

New member in South Florida 650 GT

Welcome from Australia. I have a 2017 that is pretty much identical, as 2016 was the last major upgrade for these. Fabulous machine with some idiosyncrasies as noted, the underseat light is connected to the auto headlights and the timing can't be adjusted, it always goes off while I'm getting my...

    BMW C650GT - 2 Years - 12000miles (20,000Kms)

I have just had my 20,000km service done as well. Did it at my local dealer Procycles as they have provided good service to me - good enough to pay for! It cost me $1,100.00 AUD, including new front tyre, new front brakes, and fitting of a BMW phone holder (I bought that elsewhere). The belt...

Whining noise on 2018 650 Sport

Mine does it. Sounds like gear noise, and is relative to road speed so I suspect is the final drive gears. Only when cruising, when accelerating or off the throttle there is no noise (apart from engine [emoji16]). Seems to be normal. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk

    Considering a C650GT

In Australia at least, in 2017 side view assist etc ("highline") became standard. Then in 2018 the menu was changed to allow side view assist to be disabled(!). That and some colour changes are the only published changes for the GT. There may well be some minor running changes but nothing BMW...

    Helmet storage

My husband's N104 fits at the front under the seat, upside down, but only in one direction (can't remember which!). I have a Givi V40 to box which holds my Bell RS1. It also fits under the seat, but not both at the same time. Between both seat and box, we can fit both helmets, two jackets and a...

    Front tyre wear

I have had the Metzelers, Pirellis and Michelin PR4s on my GT. Of these, I think the Pirellis had the nicest handling. The Michelin's have lasted well and are quite good in the wet (I ride to work). Metz were ok but didn't impress me in any particular area. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk

Recall issued in Australia too, covers models from 2012-2019. I haven't been notified yet, but it is on the ACCC website and my VIN is on the list. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk

    New member welcome thread..

My manual says 40,000km, but if there is no excessive wear I believe they can swap out the chain guides. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk

    New owner - few questions

I put a Givi V40 on my GT. Fits one helmet and a bit of stuff. About half the price of the OEM, looks good, mounting plate is solid aluminium, still allows filtering in peak hour traffic. But, it took me a lot of pfaffing around to stop it from rattling like an old taxi. The latch is free...

Hello from Japan! About to purchase a 2019 c650gt...

Just make sure you can back her into a parking space. She is a big fat lass the GT! Low seat would help, but it doesn't come with the bum warmer. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk

    Horn rep

I managed to fit a pair of Bosch EC9-C compact fanfares. These are the exact horns BMW put in their cars, and they sound quite authoritative. I did need to cut some plastic from the inner fender, and they need a relay from the battery. I will post photos of my installation when I can find them...

    Exhaust Mod?

It will be a bit of a pfaff. The new muffler has a smaller cat underneath where the big square one use to be. Is more like a bulge in the pipe now. The old cat was also a muffler, so if you keep it and add the new muffler it might be extremely quiet, if it even fits. So, if its legal for you...

    New member welcome thread..

Hello all, I have just transferred over from the G+ group that is being deleted. This was the suggested destination for us refugees! Attached is a picture of the lovely Gertrude, she is a big fat lass. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk
