Nothing like the feeling when you realize you just locked your key in the storage compartment. Have gotten used to my cars where it's impossible to lock your key in the car but today I did that with my GT. Fortunately my wife rescued me with the extra key from home. Got to be more careful about...

Have not tried to turn in mirrors but doubt that is the issue. The windshield doesn't move at all, not even enough to hit mirrors. As you can see from the picture there is plenty of clearance in the upright position but thanks for the suggestion.

Anyone know why the fairing by the lower front of the bike is grey/silver regardless of main body color? Sort of why I went with platinum bronze but it really stands out on some of the newer colors.

Update on fuel gauge issue is basically no update. Dealer tells me they have done all the procedures per the bmw bulletin (change sensor, update software) and are waiting to hear back from bmw on next steps. Told me to call them every couple of weeks to see if bmw has any update. Thanks to MRJB...

MRJB, sorry to hear of ongoing problem. It's been over a week since my dealer called bmw and no word yet so I guess I'll have to follow up with them. Getting jealous of all these high mpg results! :) I wonder if my lower performance is somehow related to fuel gauge problem, wouldn't seem likely...

Since it's my first bike I was basing my experience on auto repair where generally parts are more accessible even for foreign brands. I also had to wait an additional 3 days because the screen that gets changed at the 600 mile service wasn't in stock, seems like something they should carry.

No problems with my GT but when storing full face helmet under there which requires a little pressure to close, I put pressure on seat when opening in order to get the lock to pop. Probably not a good practice on my part.
