    remind me...when can I recharge my ce04

“The battery cells in the CE04's air-cooled pack are the same ones used in the new iX and i4 EVs “ https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/2022-bmw-ce04-electric-scooter-first-ride-review/ “The high-voltage NMC-811 batteries in the BMW i4 contain less than 10 percent cobalt content. In addition...

    remind me...when can I recharge my ce04

This was a good video Engineering Explained on how to best treat an ev battery. CE 04 has a NMC 811 battery.

    remind me...when can I recharge my ce04

Free charging sounds worth it to me :) And an accessible battery health monitor would be cool. I know bmw has access to it when serving.

    remind me...when can I recharge my ce04

Likely risk mitigation, a battery stored full may not have the same longevity, but completely discharged battery is borked. It would be interesting to chat to a BMW motorcycle engineer about their choices with the CE04 and a BMW automotive engineer who worked on the battery originally for the...

    Tucano leg cover.

Has anyone used the https://www.tucanourbano.com/en/pp/termoscud-blue-r233pro-111262 leg cover. I used one on my Honda Forza and loved it. but looking at the instructions for this, it looks as though the straps will cover the phone and charging hatches.

State of charge inaccurate and inconsistent.

Hey Bob Thank you for the explanation :) Out of curiosity, How do you manage to charge from 60 to 80%, do you have a smart EVSE, or do you set a timer?

    remind me...when can I recharge my ce04

The closer you can charge to 21c battery temp. The closer to 50% stare or charge for example charging between 30% and 70%, The slower you can charge, The better. Bonus points for minimizing the amount you draw from the battery while riding. But at the end of the day its about compromise of...

State of charge inaccurate and inconsistent.

I feel that either the LIM replacement or change in season has fixed the issue as my CE has been behaving recently. and looking back the issues was at its worst in the middle of winter. High speed under 5c was when the issue was most apparent, and when the garage temp was under 15c. Will be...

State of charge inaccurate and inconsistent.

My CE 04 stopped being able to be charged. BMW replaced the LIM (charging module) it seems to have fixed the miss reporting issue. LIM diagram from i3

What is this stuff made of?

For context the shaft drive BMWs get the final drive oil changed in the first service. I personally don't have a huge problem with it as it would reveal manufacturing defects. The CE 04 next oil change is at 40,000km or 24,000 miles which is pretty good.

    Squeaky brakes.

Over the last few months my front brakes have been squealing, seems to get worse in the cold. Finally got sick of people looking at my loud EV, and took it to the dealer, Was told there is a replacement campaign on that issue at the moment and the disks will be replaced. It's going to take...

Anyone Thinking of a CE 02

It looks like a lot of fun, If it came to Australia i would consider it. Disappointing it has a propitiatory connector to power thought.

    BMW CE-04 In-Depth Observations - Mike Mas

Fantastic write up. Just at the end of my first winter with the CE 04 here it has been interesting to see the range drop when the batteries gets cold ( the garage is at 15c, but when riding in the mornings it has been -5c) only left it outside for one night so hopefully that didn't damage the...

State of charge inaccurate and inconsistent.

Sorry to hear you have had the same issue, I hope BMW can get to the bottom of it. The only thing I can put it down too is temperature variation (its winter here). I'm going to book mine into BMW to get it looked at too. Let us know how you go, and good luck. :)

State of charge inaccurate and inconsistent.

Hey all, My CE 04 has been misreporting its actual state of charge (SoC). Several times I have parked in the 60s% but when I return the next day, it displays 100% and slowly comes down to to the correct SoC. Then today. about 15 mins into my ride the SoC dropped 10% in 1min from 60% to 50 %...

Automate charging to a certain level

I have noticed that the range estimate becomes less accurate if you don't do the full charge every now and then, also noticed ,when I have the CE 04 on a quick chgarger it looks like the amperage goes up just before it finishes, would that be the BMS balancing ?

    CE-04 Acceleration

Annyone else notice slower acceleration at a lower state of charge in cooler weather? I think i can but its inconstant.

Automate charging to a certain level

It wouldn't be in BMW's best interest to say "keep the charge between 20% and 80 %" as that take the usable real world range down to about 60km. Charging to 100% wont kill the battery just speed up its degradation, an as long as the battery is still above 70% after 5 years BMW doesn't really...

Any word if BMW North Americria will be changing the CE 04 and their cars to the new NACS socket?
