Got home today, late afternoon, from my concentrated 8 day riding vacation to West Virginia. 2250 miles, 1 nine hour day, 1 eight hour day, and the rest plus or minus 6 hours. Yes, your butt hurts if you ride 9 hours. Although I wish for a larger fuel tank, it was always a welcome stop to get blood back into my butt. I was also happier with the GT handle bars which kept me more up right and my back comfortable.
Except for changing a headlight bulb, the Sport behaved well with no problems. It would be nice if it was quieter for highway travel, but, I stayed mostly on secondary roads so was seldom at 70 , usually 55 or less.
I based myself in Elkins WV, and ran loops out from there. This put me through Monongahela National Forest on most rides and no matter what direction I went the roads had plenty of curves and nice scenery from the tops of the many mountain passes. The only thing lacking was the lack of scenic turn outs along the ridges and the weather was cloudy and hazy and hindered good photography.
