Leg guard replacement on C600

My PC has crapped out on me so I can't look up the service disk. I am a Mac guy really but the disk won't work on that system. Anyway can anyone tell me if the disk covers removal/replacement of the leg guard? If yes, does anyone have the ability to post or send me a copy of that section? Would help me avoid getting out there to buy a replacement PC in a hurry.

What are you trying to get at?

Just trying to make sure I know all the activities and sequence of them during the replacement of the leg shield. Did not know for example that seat had to be removed. That seems strange as the two tabs at the bottom of the shield are nowhere near the seat. Lol - nothing is easy when it comes to covers and panels on our scoots!

My Silverwing was the same way, probably worse, to get to something under the front bodywork you had to start at the back and remove almost all the panels till you got to the front. I hear the Honda Pacific Coast is the worst.

Just because it's difficult/annoying to get the body work off doesn't mean you shouldn't . It's the best way to find those little problems before they get big, and ruin a ride. What might you find? Bad hoses, coolant leaks, loose hardware, oil leaks, chaffed electrical wires, etc.

Is your leg shield broken? ( are you trying to get the squirrels out?)

There is a pieced broken off the lower right hand corner. It's a small piece about 1.5". It's the last piece not repaired/replaced from earlier this year when being hit while parked in a shopping mall car park. Does not make any difference to the operation of the bike but bugs the poop out of me still.

My pleasure Colin (my first name too, didn't use it as a kid because all the rednecks here pronounced it like "Colon"). I am a member of several forums for my various hobbies and interests just because they're the best sources for information and talent I've found. More than happy to do my share.

Big claps for toomuchvinyl for posting up those pictures. Wish BMW would make the shop manual more accessible (I.e., free pdf!).

To bad, figures it would be the last piece in!! Are you going to patch it or replace it?

Decide to finally install new leg guard I picked up last year. What a wasted 5 hours as despite giving BMW Motorrad Toronto the SN and build date at point of purchase they ordered and gave me the wrong leg guard. Many panels and Bowden cables etc plus seat removed before I noticed the difference in the latch for the stowage compartments. I had moved over compartment hinges before I noticed the doors wouldn't close. Anyway back on with the old guard and back to square one. I am really tired of BMW Motorrad Toronto as it's the 4th wrong order in the last year. Now I am seriously considering selling as BMW here can't get anything right and it's really pissing me off.

Took a crappy weather day to finally fit the new leg guard. Was still a 3hr job despite being much more familiar with all that was needed to be done. For anyone that's not removed the seat on a sport, it's one pain in the posterior to put back on. If you have to ever do it I think an extra set of hands would make it easier. I can't imagine the GT being any easier. Anyway it was a great opportunity to throw on some thread locker everywhere as our local roads in the city shake many of the screws slightly loose.
