Maxi Scooter Review in the latest issue of Rider Magazine

Rider compares the BMW C650GT, the Suzuki Burgman and the Honda SilverWing in the latest print edition of their magazine. Unlike most other publications, Rider does NOT choose a "winner" of the comparison, all they do is point out the strengths and weaknesses of each and leave it up to you to make up your own mind.

When It comes to scooter reviews it is really hard to get an Unbiased article out of a bunch of crotch rocket test pilots. Scooters are really not designed to weekend head hunt with. They are the Mini Vans of the motorcycle world, yet they try and compare them to sport touring machines or adventure bikes. Scooters are in a class of there own there fore they will be shunned and looked down upon in ill favor.

Scooters are very good touring machines especially when you consider the tall windshields and the full wind protection that they offer. When I got back from a 1000 mile in 24 hr ride a fellow that was riding a conventional motorcycle asked me are you sore like me? I said nope , Im ready for another 1000 miles. He responded with disbelief. I said Oh no, riding on my scooter for a 1000 miles was like setting in my easy chair at home for a 1000 miles. That's right, the jaw dropped deer in the head light look on his face. He got it and understood.

So when crotch rocket test pilots review scooters, they never get it right because they are looking in the wrong places and asking the wrong questions.

Steve.

I'm guessing you've never read "Rider Magazine" or you'd KNOW the are NOT a bunch of "crotch rocket test pilots." Rider is oriented towards touring and sport-touring riders, and our maxi-scoots slot right into their demographic.

I agree 100%, but I know what Steve is talking about. Sometimes other magazines (I won't mention any names) find it difficult to be objective.

A mid-size C600 or C650GT will never be a 1200, but, as you have suggested in the past, it sure fits for many many riders. And with a CVT, wind protection, storage, and heated areas my guess is that a ton of people, that can afford it, will continue to jump on board.

IMHO,both e C600 & C650GT are without doubt e top maxi scooters in e market. It's definitely not The perfect scooter but it ticks most of e boxes when it comes to any comparison. With that said,i'm loving my GT more each day.. :)

If most other maxi scooters try to perform all around and suffer in different areas. BMW chose to put a Line with 2 different scoots. One focused on touring and one more of a sporty model. Though most of the difference is cosmetic, it helps keep the GT a true touring/commuter and the sport a nice sport/commuter...thanks BMW.....
