New C600 Sport missing parts!

After buying my brand new C600 Sport I felt like visiting another BMW dealership in the area and noticed that "their" C600 Sport had a different looking rear end. I asked the parts guy about it and how much it cost. He said it should have come with the machine! I'm talking about what the book calls a rear mudguard. It fills in the gaps present in the metal frame that extends down and aft to support the license plate and rear turn signals. GTs don't have this arrangement - more of a sport bike thing I guess.
Strange thing is when I returned the dealer that sold me the Sport and went across the showroom floor to show him what I was talking about, their other one didn't have it either! Luckily when he went to his computer to look it up, it clearly showed it as OEM.

Just a thought for those of you that might "assume" that all of the parts that are supposed to come on your machine are actually there.

They are of course ordering one and will fit it under "warranty" item.

let me guess it's this piece? well at least part of this piece. it is attached with 4 screws and makes tis part look like a basic frameDSCN1858.jpg

It's a filler piece that is usually NOT supplied in Europe on the C600Sport; makes it look more like a "Tail Tidy"!

Doraemon on & Skutorr are both correct (wish I had a prize for you) an the picture is perfect!
The machine actually has a more sport bike appearance to it without the mud guard but since I got the rear carrier and trunk with mine I figured it needed protecting (just waiting for the mud to show up now - remember, I live in AZ).

Don't forget the moral to the story: your don't get what you "expect" you only get what you "inspect"

JaimeC, I like your answer but I'm way to anal for duct tape (on anything besides little brats that is).

I'm still confused. We're not talking about a European model in Gilbert, Arizona. What piece was missing on a model sold in the U.S.???? Or, are you saying that the other dealer in Arizona had installed a European accessory on their bike and represented that the bike should come with that accessory as standard?

rearlLicense plate holder

here are two pics of the C600 sport. Click on them and check the back ends...no filler pieces...

Seems to me what "Oldscoot" is saying is that European models DON'T typically come with a mud guard. So the question should be, why does the dealership in Gilbert, AZ think they are in Europe!

The excellent pictures that Scutorr posted show the C600 Sport with the exact same license plate and rear signal setup that I have on my bike and on every other 600 I've ever seen. AZ Tee Jay - to me "fix" implies something was broken or missing. What exactly was missing?

I apologize if I'm being tedious - but it's my nature. By the way - the black bike shown in the picture has a matte black appearance. The black paint that came on my bike is a very deep, gloss, charcoal black with silver metal flake.

Oldscoot...You have a 2013, right? 2012 pictures I've seen show the matte black finish.

Then again, maybe you go so fast you blow all the "matte" right off!!:)
