Replaced low beam bulb - It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be

Hey All,

New owner of a used C600S...

My low beam bulb burnt out on Sunday after a 280 mile club ride in southern CA. I searched the forum, and found several posts on how to replace the front light bulbs.

I read them all, and purchased the bulbs (one extra for a spare) yesterday. After work I took my time understanding the what I could not see directly, feeling my way through and taking some video (iPhone) to confirm what I felt. I'm not too sure, but based on what I read, I must have very small arms and hands as I was able to get both my hands behind the light fixture with ease.

The entire process of replacing the front low beam bulb took less than 30 minutes...!

I gotta say Thanks to everyone that shared the how to steps...

Today my low beam bulb burned out today, it was replaced 12000 miles ago so I was ok with the amount of time it lasted. Went to Walmart checked out the bulbs the sylvania bulbs come in three types basic, good and best reading the info on the back the best bulb is rated for 75 hours the good bulb is rated for 100 hours the basic bulb is rated for 270 hours considering the low beam is on all of the time it really doesn't make sense using the other two types of bulbs, and here in Vt. I ride at night with the high beam all the time and switch down to low beam when a Veh. Is coming at me, which isn't often. The best buib was $39.95 good $19.99 Basic $9.99 I bought 2 basic bulbs

You made the right choice. I've used all three and the basic (Sylvania Silverstar) lasts easily 2-3x longer than either the Silverstar Ultra or XtraVision.

When my low bulb went out I took the bulb from the high side and installed it on the low side. I then bought the sylvania ultra and installed it in the high beam side. Still running both 24000 km later.

With the ultra in the high beam side it is like riding in daylight (at night)

Do you run them both on all the time?
