Speed limit indicator not working

Although the little box for displaying the speed limit appears on the screen it has stopped actually showing any speed limits. I wondered if this had anything to do with the BMW Connected app. Looking at it I found all my downloaded maps of the UK had vanished. I have reinstalled them but not test ridden the bike as yet to see if it will now display speeds. The question would be, is this the app or a system update on my phone to blame. Any ideas?

There is a known speed limit issue with the latest version of the App. For me the symptom is different. On both my CE 04 and C400GT when the vehicle speed units are set to mph the speed limit is displayed in kph. If I set the vehicle speed units to kph then the speed limit is displayed in nonsensical units (probably kph x 1.6 but I haven't checked this).

I mentioned it to BMW and got this reply:

"Thank you for your e-mail. We appreciate your efforts to direct your request to us.

We know about the mentioned behaviour showing a wrong speed limit. There is already a ticket submitted to the responsible developers. A solution should be released within one of the next updates. Please just be patient.

Same thing, kind of. Mine is only showing 77 or 88 as the speed limit in the road I’m driving on, which of course are not DOT approved speed limits.

All my maps had disappeared from my BMW connect app. I have reloaded them and lo, the speed limit appears. But why did the maps disappear? And where?

My downloaded maps appeared to be there but required an update. The file size on the update was as large as the maps themselves so I presume they were gone. No correction yet.

Hi, anybody able to get this to work or have any updates? Mine is still not working.
