TFT brace for C400GT

Hi everyone, I just want to let you know, in few weeks Cymarc Engineering Ltd, will start selling online the antitheft brace for TFT screen.

Looks nice, and functional.

A few questions for you:

1) That page (https://www.cymarcbikeparts.co.uk/bmw-c400x-tft-screen-security-brace-1608-p.asp) mentions "C400" and shows a picture of it mounted on a C400X. Am I correct that this will also fit a C 400 GT?

2) It looks like the security brace is held in place by some Allen-head screws (I think). For a tiny bit more security, have you folks considered using Allen or Torx security screws instead? You know, where there's a pin in the middle of the recessed area?

I have bits in my tool box at home that will work with Allen-security and Torx-security screw heads, so that doesn't make this completely secure ... but of course nothing is completely secure, as a few burly blokes can always lift an entire bike and put it a get-away van. But it seems to me that it would be a nice idea to change those screw heads, because -- as you note -- this is designed to thwart "opportunistic" thieves.

3) You folks ship to the USA? And, if so, do you have an estimate of shipping costs? (I like that you accept PayPal, which is what I would use for a purchase, but I didn't want to click on it, in order to see if a shipping price appeared.)

That version will not fit the 400GT. Only the 400x.
The 400GT version is to follow.

It looks like the screws are the torx type. But needs to be the anti theft version with the small pip in the middle of the head. IMHO.

Personally. I was quite disappointed with the design.
Won’t give my reasons here.

No, sadly it won’t fit the GT however I’m am trying so hard to get hold of a GT to redesign it to fit. As I have my own manufacturing company with laser profilers once I get one I should be able to design, prototype and produce within a few days.

Indeed Stefano is actively helping me with the design.

As for the fasteners yes I’ve already purchased in 6 lobe high security fasteners to provide with each brace along with standard fasteners.

We are a small British manufacturing company specialising in BMW parts and within GS circles we are very well known.

I’d be very thankful if you shared this on your forum and kindly asked people to establish links to our FB page (search cymarcbikeparts) as the more support I get the faster I’ll be able to design something that fits as good as our reputation dictates!

And yes we ship to the States and a bulk shipping would cost much less than single items if enough interest could be gained on that side of the pond.
