So one of the reasons I bought my C600 was I really wanted a scoot that was more motorcycle like in both the power and handling department, but without the hassle of having to switch gears. Ninety percent of my daily riding is in stop and go traffic with speeds of less than 45mph so I really didn't see the point of getting a true motorcycle, but I like having more power when I go on weekend rides and getting on highway. I also liked the storage ability of scooters. Shifting to me just seems like an unnecessary hassle given today's technology. I get why some people like it, but it really is keeping casual bikers like me away.
With that said, I've been eyeing the Honda VFR1200 DCT. At first I really didn't see the point of having at 1200cc bike, but it appears to be the only game in town for the style of motorcycle I like that is twist and go. Honda has been slow to offer it on their sportier models (not really feeling the aesthetics of NC700/Vultus, etc). I haven't been able to find any information on whether other manufacturers are going to step into the future anytime soon and finally start offering some non-shifty options. Does anyone have any experience with the VFR? I'd really like a Ducati Multistrada or a Hyperstrada or a BMW f800gt but the lack of DCT is really killing the buzz for me on those bikes. Seems like Honda is the only manufacturer that is willing to change the game so to speak.
Ugh, I hate being an early adopter...
