Have to agree with some of our brethren on here. Not sure I would recommend the C650 as a first bike. C400 is a completely different story. You may have better luck looking on CL or CycleTrader rather than from a dealer. And yes, it is a little tall, however at 5'8 and a 30" inseam, I merely...
What did you trade, what year? I traded my 2020 C650GT for a slightly larger bike as well; R1250RS. Even though the 650 was about half the displacement, the larger bike weighed about 40 pounds less.
Interestingly, I was looking for a BMW at a dealer in San Diego. They sold it before I could get it together but was seriously thinking of flying out and riding back, something I've done a few times for other bikes. The C650 I am trying to sell was actually in Portland, OR. Took AA up there and...
Looking to track down a slightly larger bike (BMW R1250RS) to replace this excellent scooter. I found it in Portland, OR and flew up to buy it and rode home to Texas, 2008 miles in 4 days. Fun stuff.

Curious here as well for my 2020 GT. And also wondering why someone thought they could charge their bike's battery from the pocket USB charger, which is attached to the same battery!? Or did I read some of the above comments wrongly?
Yikes, I had not heard of losing the windshield power if you changed batteries. And I swapped out my battery this summer since I have a 2020 and the bike needed to be kept on a trickle charger or it wouldn't start. Guess I was lucky.
Seems like they must have made some upgrades! My 2020 I think is the last C650GT exported here. Not sure if they ever made any past that year in Germany. But I do enjoy riding it, have to say.
Considering that the BMW battery installed said it was AGM sort of made my decision easier! Also, surprised to see it was apparently manufactured in PA, on the label. But I think 5 years is a pretty good lifespan.
