    2017 Daytona Bike Week

I've toyed around with taking the scooter this year, but the K1200LT gets nearly 300 miles on a tank of gas, and has real, electronic cruise control. Typically, once I'm on I-95, I engage the cruise control, turn up the music, and just ride till I need to refuel. My goal is to make "South of...

    2017 Daytona Bike Week

I plan on starting down this Sunday, assuming the weather reports are wrong and the roads remain clear... if we get significant snowfall, I don't know what I'll do as the resort is already booked and is non-refundable. In any event, I plan on arriving in town on Monday, March 13 and returning...

    Larger windscreen for C650GT

Well silly me... I discovered today in this winter weather I HAVE been riding the C650GT with the Aeroflow standard-height windshield in the "Full Up" position. I can still easily look over it, the airflow around it is smooth, and I'm not feeling any back pressure. I also have the lower...

What are the most common aftermarket upgrades ?

I forgot about the accessory plug. I had it installed at delivery for my heated vest; the fact that I can plug in my battery tender was just a bonus. I also had the brake levers wrapped in leather by IronBraid at Americade. I find the leather wrap makes the levers less "ice cold" in the...

What are the most common aftermarket upgrades ?

I've always like Metzeler tires and don't have any issues with the OEM tires. Honestly, there aren't many choices in the size range for our scooters. Fortunately, they are the same size tires used by the Yamaha TMAX but I'm not aware of any other machine that uses those sizes. And our scooters...

What are the most common aftermarket upgrades ?

Performance upgrade: Dr. Pulley sliders, HIT clutch Comfort upgrade: Aeroflow windshield, Corbin saddle (with rider backrest), Throttlemeister bar-end weights Extra luggage: The BMW top case. Bling: Carbon Fiber windshield brackets Except for the first items, I have everything else. I'm...

    Larger windscreen for C650GT

My wife hasn't been on the scooter since I got the new windshield; she's been having medical issues that make it difficult for her to climb up and back off again. Personally, when I raise it to the level I described earlier, I don't get any back pressure at all. I know on the K1200LT when I...

    Larger windscreen for C650GT

I've never ridden with it fully raised; I'll have to experiment to let you know. Typically, I raise the shield to the point I don't hear excessive wind noise in my helmet. I've never found a reason to raise it above that point...

    Larger windscreen for C650GT

When the Aeroflow windshield started to develop cracks on my K1200LT (after nearly 200,000 miles and 17 years of use) I was disappointed to learn I could NOT get a replacement shield as Aeroflow had discontinued the shield and no longer had it in stock. I did multiple inquiries on the K1200LT...

    C600 Sport v TMax 530

If that's the case you SHOULD look at a Zero S (or if you have real need for speed, an SR). Most of my riding is commuting to and from work, and weekend rides of under 100 miles. It's the reason I've been racking up far more mileage on the Zero than on either of my other two motorcycles...

    C600 Sport v TMax 530

Not necessarily true. I didn't own a TMAX 530, I had the 2009 TMAX 500 (second generation). It was every bit as labor intensive as my 2013 C650GT BUT the maintenance intervals were more frequent. The BMW has a fixed interval of every 6,000 miles. The TMAX had a 4,000 mile service interval...

    2017...Your Year to Challenge Yourself?

I'd say a good 80% of those miles is commuting to and from work (34 miles round trip). I'll get in a ride whenever I can! The car sits parked in front of my house unless there is ice or snow on the ground or we're in the midst of a monsoon. ;)

    2017...Your Year to Challenge Yourself?

34 days into 2017 and I have a little over 700 miles logged so far; mostly on the Zero (500+). Since it is below freezing today I opted for the C650GT since I don't have to worry about the range so much AND I can run the heated saddle and grips and still have enough leftover capacity for my...

    Need a new battery

Although I would normally recommend Odyssey, they apparently don't make one that'll fit our scooters. Damn shame because it works wonderfully in my K1200LT. For my TMAX I used a WestCo battery (because Odyssey didn't make one to fit that one either). It looks like WestCo does make one to fit...

i cant get my c650 gt to start!!!

This link might be helpful: http://www.pure-gas.org/ Apparently there is also an app for Android and that other smartphone (I forget what it's called) that'll let you know the closest ethanol-free gas station.

    CAM Chain Tensioner...AGAIN

In very cold weather when I first start out the scooter makes some HORRIBLE sounding noises and there is a lot of vibration. This goes away once it warms up. I don't think it has anything to do with the cam chain tensioner, though... I suspect it is in the CVT itself and once everything is...

    Updated TMAX for 2017?

That KYMCO looks like a straight rip-off of the TMAX, but I guess there's only so much you can do with that particular form factor...
