C 400: Anyone Used Michelin "City Grip 2" Tires?

"Well, that's a horse of a different color," said Dorothy. Or Dot's husband. One of those two. This changes everything, thank you! The BMW C 400 GT is officially back on my list of, "Yep, gotta own one of those someday." I was reading another thread on this forum about official...

C 400: Anyone Used Michelin "City Grip 2" Tires?

Always enjoy these quality videos. So nice to see hills and curves instead of the pool-table flat roads of Florida (full disclosure: barely a word about tires in the words below). I rode through Vermont last summer. Gorgeous and a "generous" population density, meaning you can ride for miles...

How To Tie-down Your C650GT In A Pickup Truck Bed

I've never had a bike on the bed of a pickup so that's all Greek to me. If what you did worked, that's great. Here's what the manual shows for others who may be interested ....

How To Tie-down Your C650GT In A Pickup Truck Bed

I ride a Burgman 650 at the moment (I've owned six BMW C 650 GT's). I realize the Burgman is not the GT, but I can say from painful experience that the big Burgman does NOT like being tied down by the handlebars. Several years ago I left a nice Thanksgiving Day dinner at my in-laws to find a...

Age 77, Major Surgery, Delayed Riding Season Start, Delayed Additional C 400 GT Mods, Stop By Anyway?

Bill, Best wishes on a smooth and speedy recovery. I'm venturing north this summer but not sure if I'll make it east to the capitol region. If so, I'll let you know and pop in. I've been shopping for my 7th BMW C 650 GT so I may be riding that. The "big sewing machine," as you called it...

Right side body part plastic tab repair - any advice?

It's not clear if you have the tab and attaching hardware that broke off, or if you're starting from ground zero. If you don't have it, I'm guessing a dealer would. I've used this stuff specifically for broken tabs, including the exact one you're talking about (I had the piece that broke off)...

First Real Drive On My New (to me) 650GT

Good report. I lived in Milwaukee for ten years after grad school up in Menomonie. Love Wisconsin. My two oldest kids were born there. I never called this bike a "scooter" and heaven and earth will pass away before I ever say I was out "scootin'." It's a mid-size motorcycle that's automatic...

    Oil filter wrench - size?

Depends on the oil filter you use, of course. Filter size is 76mm. Here's the part # for the OEM filter...

Removed the topcase from my C650GT, am I missing some parts?

Very nice of you to say, thank you. Many wizened riders gave me help when I was discovering the wonders of maxi-scooters. I'm happy to pass it on.

Removed the topcase from my C650GT, am I missing some parts?

There are small covers for those two spots. Part # BMW 46 54 7 680 837, "Cover Plug." URL for any and every BMW C 650 GT part: https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=57522&rnd=09082020

    Is there a new 2025 C 650 gt?

Clearly a lie. I always wonder why. Why do people wake up and devote their day to deceiving others? Or worse, stealing someone's money. Why not put all that time and talent into an honest endeavor? In this case, what on God's green earth is the gain of putting new audio on a ten year old bike...

    Hello

Best tip I ever got ... Never, ever, not once, DO NOT TRUST THAT A CAR PREPARING TO TURN IN FRONT OF YOUR BIKE SEES YOU AND WILL STOP. Slow down. Veer to the right. Leave yourself space to get away. Flick your brights erratically. Cars turning in front of bikes are the #1 cause of motorcycle...

    Which high-temperature grease?

Gotcha. Thank you for the clarification.

    C400GT Touring

Oh yeah, I get the necessary evil thing. From Maine to D.C., with the population density of the Northeast, I would have encountered a jillion red lights and stop signs and probably generated an average speed of around 16 mph on US-1. So it was all interstate for the first half of my trip. In...

    C400GT Touring

Interesting. I don't have your appetite for the interstate. After an hour or so, I crave a change. From Maine to Florida this summer, I bet my ratio was 35/65 interstate to US-1. I'm the Poky Little Puppy on long rides. I like interruption .... 60 to 65 mph on US-1 for half an hour ... slow...

    C400GT Touring

This amazes me. If I do 250 miles in a day, that's a lot. How many hours in the saddle for 400 or 500 miles? You keep such good stats, I'm guessing you may even have an average mph for the trip.

    Which high-temperature grease?

I've used this on variator splines on a few C 650 GT belt changes. I believe it's equivalent to the grease that BMW specs.

Rear Tire Pressure Warning: Need Help

I installed a Chinese knock-off on a 2013 GT and it worked fine. I used the Motoscan app and a $10 GM wake up tool to activate it. I think the BMW dealer price is absurd, akin to paying BMW $435 for a CVT belt when you can buy the exact same Mitsuboshi belt without "BMW" stamped on it for around...

    Replacing CVT air filters

Just to be clear, the bike shown is a 2017 (Gen 2.0). On my 2013 GT the port was under the seat, and requires a 13-prong adapter.
