Great read, Bill, thanks for sharing. What an ordeal, six months without a bike you paid good money for -- and they even got the VIN number wrong! Glad it's resolved well. Though they moved at a glacial pace in your case, BMW Motorrad does step up to the plate regularly -- I recall several...
That is very tempting since I know you take phenomenal care of your bikes and I really miss my 2019 (I sold it to buy a white Burgman 400 for my annual summer Fly 'n Ride to Rochester NY -- the B400 is fantastic). Plus this is the perfect time of year for a long ride in Fall weather. All that...
Just sold both, sorry.
I've had good success with a Mother's product called Back to Black. It's in a red container labeled "trim and plastic restorer." But in fairness, I probably wouldn't buy a C 650 GT or big scooter with badly faded plastic. To me that says the owner didn't give a sh#t --...
You are correct. Sorry, senior moment. Once summer is over, I tend to view it as "last year." Because it's always summer where I live, my confusion is enhanced. A few times each year, I will have to pause and ask myself, "What season is it up north?"
That's quite a commute. I have a GIVI windscreen for the GT. It's taller and gives better wind protection than the OEM screen. That is aided by two side panels that reduce wind on the hands.
Let me know if you're interested in buying the screen or hand panels or both. They're just sitting in...
Thanks for verifying info on the hydraulic tensioner.
I don't recall looking into a '16 near Atlanta recently, but it's possible if it was white. The '16 white is only matched by the '13 red. Last week I almost bought a red 2013 on CycleTrader. Had a matching red BMW top case and not a scratch...
Can't resist a Harley joke I've long enjoyed ....
"People knock the reliability of Harleys, but the fact is, 90% are still on the road."
"The other 10% managed to make it home."
More info from a BMW dealer on this link. It's an emissions issue, nothing to do with safety.

I'm thinking of buying my 6th C 650 GT from a seller in Alabama. This is a gorgeous, black 2017 with just over 3,000 miles. Seems a tad pricey at $7,800 (I bought a 2019 in South Carolina last year for $7,000), but I don't know how firm the price is.
Does anyone know if 2017 models have the...
"Will the TPMS 8532732 ( which was working before ) work again, when I fit the tyre back into the Scooter in the next few days?......also wondering are the front / rear are the same ? 8532732."
Changing a tire will make no difference in TPMS function. However, it's always helpful to tell your...

These are items sitting around in my garage from owning five C 650 GT's. Someone else should enjoy them. All in very good to like-new condition.
I am selling a Utopia driver backrest ... ... a tall GIVI windscreen with hand guards ... front brake...

I bought the twin of this bike last year in Charleston, South Carolina and rode it home to South Florida. Sold it this summer in advance of a month...
Easy to remove. Ugly as sin. Uncomfortable. And unlike a Burgman 650 or Silver Wing 600, removing it doesn't add leg room.
Corbin makes a custom seat for the C 650 GT that offers more legroom. You can increase that by asking them to "push back" one inch from normal specs. The seat costs around...
I love the BMW variator holding tool for belt changes but I didn't buy the special spark plug tools. Photo below of three tools I used, in order, plus a torque wrench.
Below are my notes after changing the plugs on a 2013.
SPARK PLUGS
NGK LMAR8D-J due at 24,000 miles.
TORQUE spark plug: 12...
Yikes, that's a lot of tire changes over the course of owning a CE-04. Although a BMW dealer sales lady told me the bike has a life span of five years and becomes kaput when the traction battery dies, because that battery can't be replaced.
Question: is it easy to remove the front and rear...
