12 V Socket (accessory plug) not working?

I’d be interested to know if you’ve blown a fuse. As I understand it, the CAN BUS system should prevent enough current being drawn to blow the fuse. I guess the total current from all the loads sharing the same fuse could exceed the fuse rating under some circumstances. My Airman Tour...

Buffeting at highway speeds (50+ MPH)

I fitted the BMW CE 04 tall screen but was disappointed to find that turbulence was quite bad around the helmet region. Several years ago I had a much worse turbulence issue with the BMW touring screen on my R1200R which I fixed by fitting a Wunderlich wind deflector. So I tried the same...

12 V Socket (accessory plug) not working?

It sounds like your jacket requires more current from the CAN-BUS system than the limit set in the controller unit for the socket. From previous experience with BMWs there is no reset so if you plug something in which draws a current below the set limit then it should still work. Its annoying...

    New member welcome thread..

I think you will probably be OK but I wouldn't want to do a regular commute much longer than 50 miles out of sympathy for the battery. Obviously range depends on how you ride. Without trying to be economical but staying within speed limits, I get about 7 miles per kWh which would give about 50...

    Advice please long term storage...

It was no problem. There's a lot of stuff to wade through in that owner's manual. Fortunately, I had seven months to plough through it whilst waiting for my CE 04 to arrive!

    Advice please long term storage...

From Page 172 of the first edition manual: "Recharge function If the state of charge of the 12 V battery drops below a defined threshold, the recharge function is activated. Under these circumstances the 12 V battery is charged via the DC/ DC transformer by the high- voltage battery. This...

    Lighting - what works?

Dipped beam on mine was terrible - the lights were pointing down too much. I increased the beam angle using an adjustment knob behind the front panel and it is just fine now.

    Front tyre Life

I'm pretty sure that there is no regeneration from the front wheel on the CE 04 - there is no obvious machinery for it and it wouldn't make sense from a safety point of view to have an extra level of unpredictability in the front wheel braking characteristics. After thinking about it more, I...

    Front tyre Life

That's certainly food for thought, thanks for the link. I hope that I can get better life out of my next set of tyres which are Michelin Pilot Road 4s. I had these tyres on a previous bike (a K1300s) and was very impressed by the secure feeling they gave in corners in the wet but unfortunately...

    New member welcome thread..

Hello all. I'm Bob from the UK. I have been running a CE 04 since April 2022, it's my first scooter and my first electric bike. I also run a R1200R and a Honda NC750x DCT. I'm amazed at how well the CE 04 handles twisty roads and how well it copes on the motorway.

    Front tyre Life

Hello everybody, I'm new to the forum and am based in the UK. I've had my CE 04 since April and have clocked up just over 3500 miles. The thing is, the front tyre (a Maxxis Supermaxx SC) is now worn down to the wear markers in a band about halfway between the centre and edge of the tyre...
