Advice please long term storage...

Good afternoon. I'm in Midwest and of course winter weather calls for long term storage. While I j sets a how to keep main batteries charged, I'm unsure whether I need to attach a trick e charger while on the scoot to the 12V...if that will cause damage...?

I don't have a CE-04, nor an answer for you, but I think that you ask an interesting question.

Just to eliminate any confusion, to dispense with a side issue, I'm sure you mean "float charger" or "smart charger" -- something such as a Battery Tender, correct? "Trickle charger" is kind of old school these days, and if I'm not mistaken refers to "dumb" devices that just keep on putting out current, with no intelligence to back off, no smarts to desulfate, and so forth -- you certainly don't want that hooked up all winter.

I keep my bike(s) hooked up all winter (and even during riding season, for that matter) here in the Northeast to smart chargers. My guess is that you won't need to do that, given that, as someone remarked in a related thread the other day, the bike uses the main battery pack to recharge the smaller 12V one. What you might want to do is akin to what I do with my riding lawnmower: just hook it up a few days before the season begins.
 
From what I read on page 196, it speaks only to the need to keep the main battery fully charged while in storeage; I didn't see reference or advice on how to keep 12V aux battery charged while in long term storage..so still perplexed...any suggestions, please?
 
From Page 172 of the first edition manual:

"Recharge function

If the state of charge of the 12 V battery drops below a defined threshold, the recharge function is activated. Under these circumstances the 12 V battery is charged via the DC/ DC transformer by the high- voltage battery. This ensures that the 12 V battery maintains an adequate state of charge.

The recharge function is active in the following situations:

Vehicle on the move: The 12 V battery is recharged when necessary.
Charging process in progress: The 12 V battery is recharged in addition to the high-voltage battery.
During out-of-use periods: The 12 V battery's state of charge is checked very 2 days and the battery is recharged as necessary. Fan and coolant pump noises might be audible while recharging is in progress."
 
Hey there, @Mitleider - I'm in chicago as well - I ran into a problem with my 12V already draining in storage in covered garage and had to recharge...due to the subzero and not having it plugged in entire time. was pretty simple to recharge, but also there are instructions in the the manual that tell you how to trickle charge through the 12V
